La tasa de filtración glomerular (TFG) es un índice que mide la velocidad a la que se filtra la sangre por minuto en los corpúsculos renales de ambos riñones, y que suele ser alrededor e 125 mL/min en los hombres y 105 mL/min en las mujeres. La medición de la TFG se hace mediante la prueba de Depuración de Creatinina con recolección de orina de 24 o 2 horas y no es viable en su inmediatez para su valoración en la práctica diaria, por ello se han desarrollado diversas ecuaciones matemáticas que permitan su estimación(1). Durante los últimos años, la TFG ha sido considerada como el mejor índice para evaluar la función renal, siendo muy importante en la atención médica de todo paciente.

Finance Race nace de nuestro deseo de dar solución a un problema social relevante: la falta de habilidades para la gestión de los recursos económicos y financieros en la población escolar. Black race is associated with poverty, malnutrition, hypertension, obesity and inadequate prenatal care. Objective: To determine black race as an independent risk factor for preeclampsia. We investigate the role of physical appearance, in addition to race and sex, in the rate of discrimination observed in the labour market of Lima. Our experimental design allows us to disentangle the effect of each of those three variables on the callback rates received by our fictitious job candidates. Since we are controlling for variables that are important in the selection process (mainly, education and job experience), our results provide better indicators of discrimination than the ones we could obtain through the econometric analysis of observational data. We find that discrimination based on looks is greater than that based on race or sex. The first two types of discrimination are in professional and unskilled jobs.

Para difundir tal sentimiento, se hacía necesario, sobre todo, construir una imagen del esclavo como un ser humano dependiente, sin voluntad propia, sometido totalmente al poder del amo. La imagen del esclavo como víctima permitiría crear una empatía alrededor del esclavo. Fueron muchos y muy diferentes los recursos imaginarios empleados por los abolicionistas para expresar la idea del esclavo víctima.

BACKGROUND & AIMS: Genetic ancestry or racial differences in health outcomes exist in diseases associated with systemic inflammation (e.g., Covid-19). This study aimed to investigate the association of genetic ancestry and race with acute-onchronic liver failure (ACLF), which is characterized by acute systemic inflammation, multi-organ failure and high risk of short-term death. METHODS: This prospective cohort study analyzed a comprehensive set of data including genetic ancestry and race, among several others, in 1274 patients with acutely decompensated cirrhosis (ADC) who were nonelectively admitted to 44 hospitals from 7 Latin American countries. RESULTS: 395 (31.0%) had ACLF of any grade at enrollment. Explora cómo la construcción interseccional de la raza y el género influyen en el acceso de las mujeres afroperuanas al poder político. Investigaciones previas sobre la presencia de mujeres de ascendencia africana en las legislaturas latinoamericanas describen al Perú como un caso excepcional. En 2013, Perú tuvo tres mujeres afroperuanas en su congreso nacional, todas ellas exvoleibolistas. En comparación con otros países donde las mujeres negras eran casi inexistentes en las legislaturas, Perú estaba en una mejor posición. The present paper describes the case of a two-year-old filly who developed severe gastrointestinal lesions after receiving prolonged doses of phenylbutazone when treating a fracture in the right forelimb. Necropsy findings revealed severe acute diffuse catarrahhemorrhagic-ulcerative gastritis and submucosal edema and severe diffuse acute mucohemorrhagic enterocolitis and splenomegaly with severe acute passive congestion. The cause of death was due to cardio-respiratory arrest and coagulopathy with circulatory disturbance and gastric ulcerogenic process associated with iatrogenic shock by phenylbutazone.

This document is based on a recent study on the relation between ethnicity, culture, «race» and ancestry among Afro-Peruvians. Findings show that while construction of the «black» or Afrodescendant identity in Peru holds the cultural dimension as a central component, it mainly - and fundamentally- revolves around the idea of the existence of a «black race». According to these «racialized» identity criteria, the boundaries of an Afro-descendant «we» cover only those with certain phenotypic markers that Afro-Peruvians themselves consider as defining membership in the «black race». The phenotypical «evidence» of «blackness» thus appears as a kind of «necessary condition» for the «black»/Afro- Peruvian identity.
