This article will analyze the congenital anomalies and malformations that are evidenced in the story «La astrología en el Perú», where the illustrious Don Ricardo Palma describes the explanations for the deformities with which newborns were born in the 17th century, which were based on the mothers, ignorance of astrology. This work aims to explain these alterations scientifically, based on three branches of medicine: genetics, embryology, and neonatology. In addition, it seeks to inform about the diagnoses that medical astrology used to use based on superstitions, in comparison with contemporary medicine that opts for specialized research to detect the conditions that the fetus could suffer from its intrauterine development.

Introduction: The evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic varies in each population; it has been complicating health systems worldwide. Objective: to analyze the evolution of the Covid-19 pandemic, estimating the effect of the containment measures practiced in Peru. Material and Method: The SIR epidemiological mathematical modeling was applied, estimating the COVID-19 evolution in our population. Data analysis was performed following the SIR mathematical model with defined ordinary differential equations to simulate epidemiological behavior; and it was executed in the RStudio programming language. The objective of the research was to estimate mathematical models for lead migration (μg/l) from a cellulose matrix using a neutral pH food simulant, taking two independent variables: total migration (mg/dm2 ) and the contact area (dm2 ), using multiple linear regression. The evaluated samples were two cellulose containers destined to the contact with food, being the origin of the cellulose from Chile and Brazil. Total and specific migration tests were carried out with the methodologies of Resolution No. 12 of MERCOSUR (1995) and method 3111 B of APHA (2005) respectively, under conditions of prolonged contact and at a temperature of 50 °C. The growing demand for functional foods has encouraged the development of innovative products using native ingredients with high nutritional value, such as Nostoc sphaericum (cushuro), a cyanobacterium traditionally consumed in high Andean regions. This study aimed to evaluate the nutritional profile and sensory acceptability of a snack made from cushuro collected in the Razuhuillca lagoon, Ayacucho, Peru. A screening experimental design was applied to analyze 13 formulations with variations in seven ingredients (two dehydrating agents, three stabilizers, and one pH regulator), followed by proximal analysis of the fresh and osmotic-dehydrated product, as well as sensory tests of four attributes. El cáncer de mama es una patología prevalente; la neoplasia papilar intraquistica representa solo el 1% de todos ellos, pueden ser divididos en infiltrantes y no infiltrantes. Se presenta el caso de una mujer de 46 años, que acude por un tumor de mama izquierda sospechoso, con biopsia core sin evidencia de carcinoma, se decidió realizar una Resección local radical de tumor con diagnóstico papiloma intraductal con carcinoma ductal in situ, se realizó cirugía de ampliación de márgenes y biopsia de ganglio centinela con técnica de azul patente con resultado negativo, seguida de Radioterapia. Este reporte resalta la importancia de considerar que las lesiones papilares pueden albergar lesiones malignas, por lo que es recomendable realizar exéresis completa de la lesión para realizar un tratamiento adecuado.

This paper analyses the new criterion of “rational administration of assets”, provided for in the bankruptcy crime of article 463 of the Chilean Penal Code, recently amended by the Economic Crimes Law, No. 21,595 of August 2023. For such purposes, the article compares this standard with other equivalent criterions, such as “orderly economic management” or “diligence in the management of economic affairs”. The paper concludes that, beyond the terminological issue, all these standards point in the same direction. Additionally, the article highlights that the Chilean criterion is not only more precise and adequate in criminal law matters, but can also have a broad scope, capable of extending to crimes such as disloyal administration or fraud against the State.

Plants have an innate immune system that is organized at two levels: one on the surface of the cells and another in the cytoplasm of the cell. Receptors on the cell surface are involved in the first line of defense, triggering immune responses by perceiving immunogenic patterns that occur during pathogen invasion. The Cf-4 receptor, present on the cell surface of tomato, requires the presence of the co-receptor SOBIR1 to confer resistance to strains of the fungal pathogen Cladosporium fulvum that secrete the Avr4 effector protein. This interaction triggers an immune response that includes a form of programmed cell death known as the hypersensitive response (HR). The aim of this study was to evaluate the ruminal kinetics of the degradation of dry matter (DM), crude protein (CP) and neutral detergent fibre (NDF) of oat silage - potato foliage, in the ratio of 70:30, including four levels of wheat bran (0, 10, 20, 30%, based on the natural matter of the ensiled mass). A factorial randomized block design of 4 x 6 (levels, times) with three replications was used. Three Brown Swiss cattle with ruminal fistula were used. Samples (5 g) were placed in a nylon bag and incubated for 4, 8, 12, 24, 48 and 72 h. Zero time (t0) was used to calculate the soluble fraction. The present study evaluated the conferred protection by two immune complex (Icx) vaccines containing a 2512 strain of Infectious Bursa Disease virus (IBDV) linked to a virus specific antibodies. Groups A and B were subcutaneously vaccinated at one day old using two commercial Icx vaccines; Group C was submitted to the traditional vaccination programme using intermediate vaccines at 10 and 18 days of age; and Group D (control) remained without vaccination. This power is recognized in Article 211, paragraph 20 of the Constitution and it is stated that it seeks to strengthen the power of the Executive, giving it more powers in the legislative area to respond quickly in critical cases.
