The use of complementary therapies in the care of the population with drug use problems continues to be a phenomenon of interest to the health professional and researcher, especially for nurses, who provide holistic care. Objective: to synthesise the available scientific evidence regarding therapies used in psychoactive substance use disorders in young people. Method: 6-stage integrative review; the databases consulted were Pubmed, Web of science, EBSCO Host, Science Direct, Conricyt and Ovid, using the terms young adult, complementary therapies and substance use disorders, in addition to the Boolean AND and OR. Objective: To evaluate the association between a history of comorbidities and the use of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) to prevent COVID-19 in Lambayeque, Peru. Material and Methods: Analytical cross-sectional study that used information from the database of the Red Prestacional Lambayeque of the Social Security of Health. The outcome variable was the self-report of having consumed and/or used some type of MAC during the pandemic to prevent COVID-19. The objective of this article is to explore the communities generated on YouTube by content creators on complementary and alternative medicine (CAM). Through graph theory, visual network analysis and a broad overview of the content of selected channels, communities are examined to assess their strength as a community in terms of their degree of connectedness and density. Strong communities are composed of individuals who spread the word about the same topic and viewpoint, acting as one block. Results showed that content creators who promote CAM on YouTube have small and weak communities; in contrast, content creators related to scientific dissemination, who are against CAM, have built strong communities.

Objetivo. Determinar los factores relacionados al diagnóstico de obesidad y sobrepeso en pacientes atendidos en la Unidad de Medicina Complementaria (UMEC) del Hospital II Vitarte, durante el año 2008. Materiales y métodos. Estudio transversal. Se evaluaron características sociodemográficas (edad, sexo, procedencia), estado nutricional y comorbilidades asociadas en historias clínicas de 626 pacientes atendidos en la UMEC. Se usó la prueba exacta de Fisher, la prueba de Kruskal-Wallis y un análisis de regresión logística multinomial para determinar posibles factores asociados. Resultados. Objetivo: determinar el conocimiento, aceptación y uso de la medicina tradicional, alternativa y/o complementaria (MTAC) en un grupo de médicos del Seguro Social de Salud (EsSalud). Materiales y métodos:estudio transversal, descriptivo. Se realizó un muestreo monoétapico por conglomerado entre médicos pertenecientes a redes asistenciales de Lima, a quienes se les aplicó una encuesta validada por expertos y luego en una prueba piloto (alfa de cronbach=0,80). Introducción: La terapia neural es una modalidad de terapia complementaria ruso alemán poco conocido entre las especialidades médicas en América Latina; sin embargo, en Europa tiene más de 100 años de uso. Objetivo: Revisar los beneficios de la terapia neural en enfermedades con dolor crónico. Metodología: Revisión narrativa, para la cual se diseñó la pregunta de investigación considerando como el componente de intervención a la terapia neural. Tras una estrategia de búsqueda en PubMed, se encontró un total de 449 resultados, de los cuales 10 cumplieron con los criterios de selección. Objetivos. Determinar la percepción de la calidad de los servicios de medicina complementaria del Seguro Social de Salud ubicados en Lima y Callao. Materiales y métodos. Estudio transversal. Para obtener la percepción de la calidad se usó el cuestionario SERVQUAL en 1140 usuarios y acompañantes, mayores de 18 años, en los servicios de medicina complementaria de EsSalud en Lima y Callao durante enero 2016. También se evaluaron variables sociodemográficas (edad, sexo, educación), la red asistencial de procedencia, tipo de seguro, profesional que atendió al paciente y se buscó la asociación de Estas con la percepción de calidad. Objective: Determine the relationship between maternal knowledge and practices on complementary feeding in a health center in Lambayeque, Peru 2021. Method: This research was non-experimental, quantitative, correlational, cross-sectional. The sample consisted of 151 mothers, obtained by StatCalc, from a population of 250. The sampling was simple random probabilistic, the technique used was the survey and the instrument was a questionnaire prepared by Barzola, resulting in 0.059 in the table of concordance, determining its validity, the Kuder Richardson statistical test was also applied with a result of 0.62. Objetivo. Describir los gastos en medicamentos en los pacientes usuarios de la Unidad de Medicina Complementaria San Juan de Lurigancho durante el periodo de enero a julio de 2009. This study seeks to analyze whether the use of the seminar technique, an active technique, as a complementary tool to lecture and exercise resolution, influences the level of cognitive development of students. In methodological terms, a quasi-experiment was carried out with students of the 4th semester of Accounting Sciences of a Federal Institution of Higher Education. The results showed that the use of the seminar, regarding the levels "remember, apply and analyze", was able to influence the cognitive development of students.It is concluded that the use of the seminar technique, as a complementary instrument, can influence the level of cognitive development achieved by accounting students.

Urolithiasis is a common disease in companion animals, but the etiopathogenesis and frequency in rabbits is poorly known. Conventional therapy can be surgical or medical. An alternative treatment based on the use of the plant «stonebreaker» (Phyllantus niruri) is commonly used in human urolithiasis in Peruvian traditional medicine, despite pharmacologic mechanisms are not completely understood yet. It is reported the case of a male rabbit showing dysuria and abdominal pain. Radiologic examination revealed the presence of a radiopaque body in the urethra.
