Haptic Virtual Reality (HVR) simulators are increasingly crucial in modern clinical education. Within this context, the significance of feedback provided by instructors to students is evident. This feedback can be delivered either face-to-face or remotely, the latter facilitated by an individualized audio and microphone system. However, there is limited literature exploring and illustrating the advantages and disadvantages of these two approaches. Objective: To determine the impact of remote vs. face-to-face feedback on the process of acquiring manual dexterity using an HVR simulator among first-year students at the School of Stomatology of Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia. Material and methods: A study was conducted involving 37 participants (mean age = 18.2 years; SD = 3.2 years) without prior dental training. They were randomly assigned to three groups (n1 = 17; n2 = 10; n3 = 10)....

The aim of this research is to describe how the virtual learning environments that integrate 3D simulations encourage communication, interaction and collaboration of students. This research uses a qualitative methodology based on the systematic observation. The results show that students - based on experience in 3D simulation environments - become active agents in the construction of their learning process. The 3D simulationenvironments with pedagogical mediation encourage communication and interaction of students in the context of the teaching sequence promoting the learning of students, and generating two types of communication: interaction between participant and object 3D; and interaction between participants that develops spontaneously and in larger quantities.

Virtual Reality (VR) is often used to describe a 3D environment wherein objects and images of the real world are simulated through technology. In architectural or civil engineering, the design process with 2D planes could lead to error owing to misinterpretation in the visualization of elements. The civil engineering program of a university in Lima, Peru, mandates the teaching of the building information modeling (BIM) methodology in all the courses, thereby allowing the students to learn about the organization and optimization of projects from the design phase to construction phase. The engineering students are required to manage many variables with the BIM methodology, especially in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Nevertheless, the teaching method of BIM could be enriched by analyzing 3D project models using VR. Whereas BIM organizes and optimizes a project through a 3D m...

Currently, the data generated in the university environment related to the perception of satisfaction is generated through surveys with categorical response questions defined on a Likert scale, with factors already defined to be evaluated, applied once per academic semester, which generates very biased information. This leads us to wonder why this survey is applied only once and why it only asks about some factors. The objective of the article is to demonstrate the feasibility of a proposal to determine the degree of perception of student satisfaction through the use of data science and natural language processing (NLP), supported by the social network twitter, as an element of data collection. As a result of the application of this proposal based on data science, it was possible to determine the level of student satisfaction, being 57.27%, through sentiment analysis using the Python lib...
