Plant DNA and RNA extraction methods are well established, with a wide range of protocols, depending on the purposes of each laboratory/research. Nowadays, quick, inexpensive and easy plant DNA and RNA extraction methods are highly sought after. We developed an optimized protocol for plant DNA and RNA extraction that uses an inexpensive bench drill and plastic bags and does not require liquid nitrogen. DNA from leaves and RNA from leaves and roots of banana, pineapple, citrus, papaya, passion fruit and cassava, were extracted using a basic cetyltrimethylammonium bromide method. Both nucleic acids were quantified and evaluated for quality based on agarose gel electrophoresis. Diabetes is a metabolic disorder, caused by an increase in blood glucose, which commonly affects a large population worldwide. That is why diabetic patients in certain cases require dental care, due to their high prevalence of oral problems or the need for third molar extraction. Due to the above, a bibliographic review was carried out in the Scielo, Pubmed, and Google Scholar databases. There were no language restrictions and 130 articles were considered, according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 50 articles with a maximum age of 5 years were selected. As a result, it was possible to establish a care protocol for third molar surgery in diabetic patients, taking into account the different parameters that must be carried out before the surgical procedure. El objetivo de este estudio fue caracterizar las principales situaciones de indicación, contraindicación y accionar profiláctico para la exodoncia de terceros molares, según la literatura. Se utilizaron las bases de datos PubMed, Scopus y Web of Science, con un total de 3 llaves de búsqueda, y se incluyeron publicaciones de máximo 5 años de antigüedad, en inglés o español, con disponibilidad de texto completo. Fueron seleccionados 18 artículos, en los que se determinó que la indicación más frecuente en la exodoncia de terceros molares fue el diagnóstico de pericoronaritis, seguido de caries cervical distal en segundo molar inferior, reabsorción radicular en dientes adyacentes y quistes. Introduction: Cough is a key symptom of tuberculosis (TB) as well as the main cause of transmission. However, a recent literature review found that cough frequency (number of coughs per hour) in patients with TB has only been studied once, in 1969. The main aim of this study is to describe cough frequency patterns before and after the start of TB treatment and to determine baseline factors that affect cough frequency in these patients. Secondarily, we will evaluate the correlation between cough frequency and TB microbiological resolution. Methods: This study will select participants with culture confirmed TB from 2 tertiary hospitals in Lima, Peru. Most people diagnosed with PD initially experience mild symptoms, but over time the symptoms become debilitating. Given their intensive care requirement, most married people living with PD receive care from their spouses; most are female caregivers. Because caregiving is hard work with long hours, caregivers experience stress, fatigue, and depression, often leading to exhaustion and burnout. The purpose of this descriptive phenomenological study is to understand the lived experience of women caregivers of husbands living with PD. In the implant rehabilitations supported in the previous sector, a surgical and prosthetic protocol should be carried out as a mechanism to ensure the aesthetics and function of the procedure to be performed. The objective of this clinical case is to present a rehabilitation protocol in a soft tissue test and management document to preserve aesthetics through provisional prosthetic structures, ending with rehabilitation with the zirconium oxide abutment with titanium base and a crown of lithium disilicate as means to achieve high aesthetics. The prediction of a unitary implant in the anterior sector requires the clinician to know three-dimensional structures conjugated with a soft tissue and material handling in an appropriate way, to predict the medium- or long-term behavior in the protection and prevention of aesthetics.

Background: Although child maltreatment (CM) has been linked to health problems and poor psychosocial functioning, not all individuals exposed to CM develop or experience negative consequences later in life. This suggests that some individuals show resilience after being exposed to CM. However, conclusions have been limited by inconsistent findings across different CM subtypes and resilience domains. Objective: To develop a protocol for conducting a systematic review and meta-analysis to quantify associations between CM (overall and its subtypes) and resilience (global and its multiple domains) in adulthood, and to examine moderators and mediators of these associations. Introduction ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) is the most severe clinical form of acute myocardial infarction, for which the current treatment consists of effective and timely myocardial reperfusion (within 12 hours of symptom onset). However, between 10% and 15% of patients with STEMI arrive at hospital facilities 12 hours after the onset of symptoms (late presentation). This case report describes the orthopedic-orthodontic treatment of a 15-year-old adolescent attended the Dental Center at the University of San Martín de Porres, indicating that his chief complaint was the appearance of his smile. The patient presented a straight profile with a protruding lower lip and a class III skeletal malocclusion (ANB, -2 °), with class III occlusal relations, moderate-severe crowding, right posterior and anterior crossbite, and dentoalveolar compensations. Once constellation of satellites are working in a collaborative manner, the security of their messages would have to be highly secure from all angles of scenarios by which the praxis of eavesdropping constitutes a constant thread for the instability of the different tasks and missions. In this paper we employ the Bennet-Brassard commonly known as the BB84 protocol in conjunction to the technique of Cognitive Radio applied to the Internet of Space Things to build a prospective technology to guarantee the communications among geocentric orbital satellites. The simulations have yielded that for a constellation of 5 satellites, the probability of successful of completion the communication might be of order of 75% ±5%.

El objetivo de este trabajo de Tesis es realizar un estudio de las características y del desempeño del protocolo SCTP (Stream Control Transmission Protocol) y contrastarlo con los protocolos clásicos de la capa de transporte. SCTP es un protocolo que trabaja en la capa de transporte, el cual diferencia de TCP que permite crear un solo canal de transmisión, con SCTP se puede crear diversos canales de conexión que trabajan en paralelo, de esta manera la transmisión es más rápida entre cliente y servidor. Todo el trabajo se realiza con aplicaciones existentes que funcionan bajo el entorno de Linux con el objetivo de mostrar los beneficios al usar SCTP en lugar de TCP, además se muestran herramientas útiles para crear aplicaciones que trabajen sobre SCTP ya que este trabajo de Tesis de Pregrado es el trabajo previo para una posterior Tesis de Maestría o de Doctorado.
