Along the northwestern coast of Perú, a few sequences of Holocene beach ridges have recently attracted the interest of several investigators. These costal features have been interpreted, first as evidence for tectonic and/or seismo-tectonic repeated events, and more recently as the result of paleo-El Niño phenomena. Most of the previous studies have been conducted in close relationship with archeological research programs, and a large proportion of the available radiocarbon data on the Peruvian beach ridges was provided by anthropic remains (charcoals and midden shells) collected on top of the ridges. Therefore these data do not yield ages of the edification of the ridges. La presente investigación tuvo como finalidad identificar si existe una relación entre la adaptación a la vida universitaria y las características de resiliencia en un grupo de 122 becarios universitarios de condición socio-económica de pobreza o pobreza extrema. Asimismo, busca describir diferencias en ambas variables según características sociodemográficas. Para ello se emplearon el Cuestionario de vivencias académicas (QVA-r) y la Escala de resiliencia para adultos (RSA). Los resultados dan cuenta de una relación directa entre todas las áreas de adaptación y la resiliencia total, siendo las más altas las halladas entre el área de personal (r = .64; p <.001) y estudio ( r = .57; p <.001) con resiliencia total. By making use of multiple ground‐based and spaceborne instruments, we study ionospheric and thermospheric behavior during the moderately intense geomagnetic storm of 29–31 August 2004 (minimum Dst excursion of −128 nT). Although this storm was far from the strongest in solar cycle 23, it provoked quite interesting effects in the ionosphere, such as opposite hemispheric asymmetries in the ionospheric F layer and in the topside ionosphere and a development of the ionospheric superfountain effect in the postsunset sector. Data from ground‐based GPS receivers and ionosondes revealed large increase in total electron content (TEC) and in NmF2 in the southern hemisphere, whereas in the northern hemisphere, very weak or no effect was observed. This article tracks the main ECLAC ideas over the economic integration in Latin American underlying the change of the ideological background of ECLAC towards an orthodox sense during the nineties. When comparing those ideas with the evolution of intraregional trade in recent years, empirical evidence shows that elements that have historically hindered the projected progress are still present but in more complex forms related to the current dynamics of the international economy. In particular, the implicit management of a partial integration by transnational companies has resulted in unequal relationships between countries and in a wider use from the mentioned process by the strongest economies. Global precipitation measurement (GPM) launched in February 2014 as a legacy of Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM). Both satellites carry precipitation radar (PR), which measures the three-dimension structure of precipitation from space. Compared to TRMM PR, GPM has dual-polarized radar (DPR) and provides the raindrop size distribution (DSD) including mass-weighted mean diameter (Dm, in mm) and normalized DSD scaling parameter for concentration (Nw, in mm–1 m–3) (DSD parameters), along with radar reflectivity factor (Ze) from the surface to 21.875 km. Introduction: Religious and spiritual struggles (RSS) are psychological conflicts related to an individuals relationship with the divine, supernatural entities, or religious beliefs and communities. These struggles can cause emotional distress and negatively impact mental health. Objective: This study aimed to examine the relationship between different dimensions of RSS and mental health indicators among adults residing in Puerto Rico. Method: A correlational design was used with a convenience sample of 250 adult participants. Validated instruments were administered to assess religious and spiritual struggles, depression, anxiety, and flourishing. In the present work I will try to explain two lines of interpretation of the discussed article that regulates the crime of feminicide in our Penal Code, making known the consequences that would follow from accepting them, in addition to some objections to them. Much of the essay will examine the best interpretation of the criminal offense and then the strongest objection that must be faced; I consider the latter the real problem of feminicide. Finally, I will suggest an interpretation of feminicide and the conclusions will be compiled.

It seeks to determine the relationship between pathos and logos in Don Manuel González Prada. The pathos for freedom was the beginning of public behavior in Manuel González Prada and the logos of rationality were at his service. In his thought process is described constituent rational conjecture and the prediction, it is concluded that both concepts are clearly connected to his work despite his attempt to make freed on the strongest passion. The foundations of these strategies lie on pedagogical knowledge and fall into two basic areas, namely; learning (learner‘s perspective) and instruction (professor‘s perspective). This paper focuses on the project method as an instructional strategy applied in university course. Details on how the learners stimulate their strongest abilities and develop new ones are presented. This skill-building process prevents and solves interpersonal conflicts while creating both a favorable atmosphere and self-confidence which allows development of their own skills.

This article analyzes the Organic Law on Higher Education of Ecuador with regards to the links and the aspects that force the Higher Education Institutions to act on the expectations and needs of the community, considering the national planning, the development regime, the worldwide scientific, humanistic and technological improvement, and the cultural diversity in the country. The importance of the relation with the community is described and it is highlighted as the strongest indicator of universities categorization at the present time. For that effect, some ideas are provided on how a comprehensive working model should be structured for effective linkage among the university, business and community, using as reference the Academic Unit of Business Science.

Este artículo analiza la Ley Orgánica de Educación Superior del Ecuador en lo que respecta a la vinculación y los aspectos que obligan a las instituciones de educación superior a actuar ante las expectativas y necesidades de la sociedad, según la planificación nacional, el régimen de desarrollo, el perfeccionamiento científico, humanístico y tecnológico mundial, y la diversidad cultural presente en el país. En función de esto, se describe la importancia de la vinculación con la sociedad y se resalta esta acción como el indicador más fuerte de categorización de las universidades en los actuales momentos. Para ello, se brindan algunas ideas de cómo debería estructurarse un modelointegral de trabajo para lograr una efectiva vinculación entre la universidad, empresas y la sociedad, utilizando como referente la Unidad Académica de Ciencias Empresariales.

Among the various problems associated with multilingualism in Peru, one of the least studied is that of the dialectal variants spoken by small groups of people who, because they are isolated and do not enjoy national prestige, are threatened with extinction. It is legitimate to wonder if, in this case, its study may have another interest than the strictly scientific one. It seems to us that the language is closely associated with the cultural survival of the ethnic groups that speak it and that it constitutes the strongest link between the members of a given community. The disappearance of the language frequently causes the loss of a large part of the oral tradition and, consequently, of the collective identity.

Descriptive research, where it is used: the questionnaire aggressive behavior AQ Buss and Perry to measure aggressive behavior, and evaluation of the tutorial and guidance of Roa and Del Río (2010). The purposes of this study were to describe the perception of tutor performance and identify the most predominant aggressive behavior in a probabilistic sample of 20 subjects in the 5th grade of Primary Education Institution in the district of Comas, Lima – Perú. The findings determined that 20% considered adequate tutor´s work, and 45% considered it as regular, in turn, the aggressive behavior with strongest presence was verbal (spreading rumors); and hostility had a minor presence.

This study assessed changes in the maximum and minimum surface air temperatures across Peru during the period 1964–2014. For this purpose, we employed the most complete records of air temperature series that were also subjected to a rigorous quality control and homogenization protocol. Based on the homogenized series, we created a monthly gridded data set of maximum and minimum air temperatures at a 5 × 5 km grid spacing. The results suggest a general warming trend in surface air temperature across Peru, albeit with clear spatial and seasonal variation. Our results also reveal some differences in the detectable trends between maximum and minimum air temperatures. This paper is a study of the spillover effects of U.S. macroeconomic news on different sectors of the Australian stock market. We find that an indication of economic contraction from the United States raises the conditional mean, and most news elicits associated volatility in the Australian stock market. We further document that different sectors respond differently to U.S. news. For example, U.S. news has the strongest effect on the first two moments of the Australian Industrials and Property Trusts stock returns and the least impact on the Materials sector. Furthermore, we document that while U.S. news has been absorbed relatively quickly on the conditional mean, the volatility impact is somewhat persistent.

Faced with increased competition, business schools seem to have realized that having the strongest brands, hence, a distinct image, is vital to strengthen their presence in the education marketplace. It is in this context that the present paper focuses on assessing the dimensions of brand equity of business schools from the MBA-enrolled student’s perspective, with a specific reference to the Peruvian market.
