It has been determined Glycated A1c haemoglobin, Superóxido Dismutase, Glutation peroxidase and Malondialdehide levels in 25 patients with Diabetes mellitus type 2, whom participate in the Education Program for Diabetic Patients, from Arzobispo Loayza Hospital, they were confront with 15 persons apparently healthful control group. There is a positive correlation between Glycated A1c haemoglobin - Superoxido Dismutase (r=0,164, p<0.05) and Glycated A1c haemoglobin - Malondyaldehíde (r=0.432, p<0.05) levels. We deduce that a high level of Malondialdehíde is associate with the Diabetes mellitus type 2 complications, for a high free radicals generation, that conduce to antioxidantes system desequilibrium, resulting low Ievels Glutation peroxidase, normal or high slightly level Superoxido Dismutase confront control group.

This paper describes the research conducted to develop an optimal methodology to extract useful fibers from the “Ichu” grasses which can be used as reinforcement of polyester resin. Laminates were manufactured and their flexural properties were characterized as well as the optimal fiber properties. Results show that for this kind of materials, the mechanical and retting treatments are insufficient to remove lignin from the raw material state; on the other hand, alkali treatments are considerably effective. Laminates transverse strength shows an improvement (up to 30 MPa) when the alkali treatment time increases. Longitudinal strength and modulus present values around ~144 MPa and ~8.8 GPa respectively with fiber volume fraction around 0.38. © 2018, © 2018 Taylor & Francis.

Ichu and Cabuya were characterized and the effect of alkali treatment on the chemical and physical properties of these fibers was studied. This treatment was carried out to remove non-cellulosic components in order to improve the adhesion of these fibers to be used as reinforcing composites since they are currently being tested in polymer matrix composites. The chemical properties were investigated through TAPPI Standards and FTIR spectroscopy. The physical properties (microfibrillar angle and density) were analyzed through polarized light microscopy and a gas pycnometer, respectively. The results show that with this chemical treatment, it is possible to remove 53.9% of lignin and 22.7% of hemicellulose for Ichu fiber and 50.7% and 91.7%, respectively, for Cabuya. Besides, it was found that the microfibrillar angle is not affected by this chemical treatment since its effect is only super...

Technology makes many of the tasks that were previously difficult to perform, nowadays can be solved, one of them is to be able to carry out studies on large tracts of land and at the same time be able to have a level of detail of them, through the study of the satellite images provided by the Earth observation satellites, these images are composed of a series of spectral bands that will depend on the type of satellite mission that was conceived and the optical instrument that is found as a payload, these images are represented by multidimensional arrays and large size, so computational high computation equipment is required to process the images, added to this requires specialized software that allows the visual interpretation of satellite images. To be able to work with satellite images you have many configurations, normally you work with the configuration of separate bands that consis...

Diabetes Mellitus is a metabolic disease characterized by the presence of elevated blood glucose levels. Diabetes itself causes other chronic complications, including an eye disease known as diabetic retinopathy. Nowadays, diabetic retinopathy is the most frequent cause of blindness among the active population of developed countries. The principles that produce this disease are not completely known and can not yet be prevented. However, there are effective treatments that delay their evolution as long as it is diagnosed with sufficient anticipation. The problem of diabetic retinopathy is that it is an asymptomatic disease and only defects appear in the vision at an advanced stage of the disease. So in the early stages of diabetic retinopathy is usually imperceptible, diabetic patients do not realize that they have the disease and do not undergo an eye examination. Sometimes the patient i...

When we refer to pain, we are faced with an unpleasant sensation that causes certain reactions in the human body that prevent its production, so it is of vital importance to understand what the symptomatology of pain is, how it is produced and how it can be avoided. production, there are cases where the pain becomes pathological where found in the patient's thoughts, therefore the present work tries to demonstrate that its production can be avoided in the face of intense painful situations that occur when working in the recovery of the mobility of the patient. articulation of the knee, which by its nature is painful, added to the fear of feeling pain on the part of the patient does not help the patient's recovery, the experimentation consists of taking the pain from the approach of not thinking about it and relaxing and evaluating it by an environment of cerebral analysis through the lev...

In the evaluation of terrestrial coverage by means of remote sensors, we find a variety of techniques dedicated to be able to register the terrestrial coverage, one of them is the use of optical satellite images also known as multispectral images, these images are formed by different bands of spectral that depend on the optical sensor of the observation satellite, among the known bands we have: Panchromatic, Red, Green, Blue, Near Infrared, among others. The analysis of multispectral images is based on the grouping of these spectral bands, forming color images by grouping three spectral bands; One of the disadvantages presented by optical images in the acquisition is the presence of cloud cover that prevents the registration of land cover. Another of the techniques used is the use of the images provided by the Synthetic Aperture satellites, better known as radar images (SAR). These image...

ZnO/TiO2 nanostructures were fabricated by an electrostatically modified electrospinning technique using zinc acetate and commercially available TiO2-P25, polyvinyl alcohol, and a solvent. It was found that the TiO2-P25 nanoparticles were attached to the ZnO nanostructures, and the mean diameter of the nanoparticles forming the nanostructures ranged from 31 to 52 nm with increasing the amount of zinc acetate. The obtained results evidenced that the coupling of TiO2 with ZnO enhanced the IPCE and improved the photocatalytic activity of ZnO. Particularly, the ZnO/TiO2 nanostructures fabricated with a zinc acetate-to-PVA ratio of 2:3 exhibited the highest IPCE and photocatalytic activity.
