Proctoporus machupicchu is a semi-fossorial lizard, which was discovered in two locations in the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu (SHMP), Urubamba province, Cusco, Peru. The type series consists of two females and a male, however, the male paratype does not possess femoral pores which is incongruous with the males mentioned in the literature. In this paper, we report a new location outside the SHMP and re-examine the type series. Internally, the male paratype has no male vestiges (testicles and seminiferous ducts), so we conclude that there was an error in sexing. In addition, we report a new locality based on a juvenile male collected in the San Luis Private Conservation Area (ACP San Luis) of La Convención province. This new record increases the range of distribution of the species by 20.9km to the northeast and its altitudinal range from 2760 – 2800 to 2760 – 2966 m of altitude...

Antecedentes.

Erosive adenomatosis is a rare benign neoplasm that affects the nipple. Characterized by erosion, telorrhoea, telorrhagia, nodularity, pruritus and erythema, causing a progressive destructive process of the nipple, which can be confused with Paget's disease; which is why knowledge of this pathology is essential to avoid surgical overtreatment. We present the case of a 35-year-old patient diagnosed and treated with surgery, as well as a review of the literature on this entity. © 2023

Diabetes Mellitus is a metabolic disease characterized by the presence of elevated blood glucose levels. Diabetes itself causes other chronic complications, including an eye disease known as diabetic retinopathy. Nowadays, diabetic retinopathy is the most frequent cause of blindness among the active population of developed countries. The principles that produce this disease are not completely known and can not yet be prevented. However, there are effective treatments that delay their evolution as long as it is diagnosed with sufficient anticipation. The problem of diabetic retinopathy is that it is an asymptomatic disease and only defects appear in the vision at an advanced stage of the disease. So in the early stages of diabetic retinopathy is usually imperceptible, diabetic patients do not realize that they have the disease and do not undergo an eye examination. Sometimes the patient i...

In the evaluation of terrestrial coverage by means of remote sensors, we find a variety of techniques dedicated to be able to register the terrestrial coverage, one of them is the use of optical satellite images also known as multispectral images, these images are formed by different bands of spectral that depend on the optical sensor of the observation satellite, among the known bands we have: Panchromatic, Red, Green, Blue, Near Infrared, among others. The analysis of multispectral images is based on the grouping of these spectral bands, forming color images by grouping three spectral bands; One of the disadvantages presented by optical images in the acquisition is the presence of cloud cover that prevents the registration of land cover. Another of the techniques used is the use of the images provided by the Synthetic Aperture satellites, better known as radar images (SAR). These image...

In the new times we are living, the use of technology is causing many of the customs are changing, one of them is the development of children, in previous years children used to play with their friends in the parks, technology It has caused many of them to perform recreation activities based on the use of video games, these games have caused children to develop certain skills and also change their behavior when they perform certain activities, in this work a comparison between the levels of concentration and meditation levels when children carry out activities related to the realization of academic activities related to the accomplishment of the school tasks that they must perform, with the levels of concentration and meditation when the child is doing activities related to video games, methodology that was used to evaluate the levels The concentration and meditation is based on the use ...

Graduated motor imagery is the technique used in rehabilitation therapies, for the treatment of chronic pain and in most cases for movement disorders, the technique consists in strategically presenting therapies that correspond to laterality perception, mirror therapies and motor imagery. In the present work a mechanism was designed that facilitates the patient to learn about the movement mechanisms and the way in which the movement interacts with the extremities of the upper and lower limbs, the design is based on being able to use 24 images of the upper limbs and lower, these images are grouped into two groups with a different background, one dark and the other light, these images are grouped and sequentially arranged in a video, each image has a duration of 2 seconds in the video, after this time the image, at the time each image is displayed, the patient raises his hand that correspo...

Background: Different antigens are needed to characterize Plasmodium falciparum infection in terms of seroreactivity and targets for invasion inhibition, in order to guide and identify the proper use of such proteins as tools for the development of serological markers and/or as vaccine candidates. Methods: IgG responses in 84 serum samples from individuals with P. falciparum infection [classified as symptomatic (Sym) or asymptomatic (Asym)], or acute Plasmodium vivax infection, from the Peruvian Amazon region, were evaluated by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays specific for a baculovirus-produced recombinant protein P. falciparum Merozoite Surface Protein 10 (rMSP10) and for non-EGF region selected peptides of PfMSP10 selected by a bioinformatics tool (PfMSP10-1, PfMSP10-2 and PfMSP10-3). Monoclonal antibodies against the selected peptides were evaluated by western blotting, confocal mi...

The aim of this study was to conduct a haematological evaluation of dogs and cats in Lima, Peru. A total of 460 blood samples (410 dogs and 50 cats) were collected between December 2017 and May 2018. The smears were stained with Wright and the reticulocytes were stained with Brilliant cresyl blue. Descriptive statistics were performed for quantitative variables in the erythroid, myeloid and lymphoid series, as well as the frequency analysis of qualitative variables between species indicator of type of anaemia and leukaemia, ability of medullary regeneration, abnormal morphological changes, out of physiological range and presence of extra and intracellular microorganisms. The most frequent alterations were normochromic normocytic anaemia (23.2% dog, 10% cat), megaloblastic anaemia (5.1% dog), severe hypochromic microcytic anaemia (4% cat), neutrophilic chronic myeloid leukaemia (7.1% dog,...
