It is analized the relationship between need for cognition and Kolb's learning styles theory, considering Freshmen students at a public university (Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, UNMSM). Participants were 489 students, chosen randomly from 19 Academic Schools or "Facultades". The results showed that students have high levels of need for cognition and that male students have the highest score. It was found that the learning style Divergent is the most frequent, while the style assimilator was the least frequent. The styles Convergent and Divergent are the most common among male and female students, respectively. Also, it was found that the measures of learning styles and need for cognition showed significative relationship. Active experimentation showed no signification relationship with need for cognition.

It is analized the psychometric properties of Raven’s Advanced Progressive Matrices. The participants were 501 Freshmen students of 5 professional careers of the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (U.N.M.S.M.), a public university located at Lima, Perú. The reliability analysis shows that the test is reliable. Also, the construct validity analysis meets the requirements of test making. It was made a psychometric study of Raven Coloured Progressive Matrices Test, which is a non verbal instrument that evaluates abilities related to make comparisons, thinking for analogy and spatial perceptions organization. It was designed mainly as a measure of factor "g" of Spearman or general intelligence, composed by two abilities, named educational and reproductive. The participants were 2496 students obtained at random considering all school districts (USE) of the city of Lima, Peru. They were primary level students, from 1º to 6º grade and 6 to 11 years old. It was made a study of burnout syndrome in high school teachers of Lima, Perú, considering sex, school classification and year at work. The participants were 764 high school teachers obtained at random considering all school districts (USE) of the city of Lima, Peru. They were teachers of public and private schools. The psychometric analysis shows that the item-test relation is up to norms (>0.20), so reliability was obtained. Also the factor analysis of the items comes up whith one factor explaining the 55.54% of variance, so construct validity was obtained. Also the qualification norms was calculated. Se analizan las relaciones entre la necesidad cognitiva y los estilos de aprendizaje planteados por Kolb, teniendo en cuenta estudiantes del primer semestre de las diversas especialidades de la U.N.M.S.M. Se realizó el estudio del síndrome del «Burnout» en profesores de educación secundaria de Lima Metropolitana considerando las variables: sexo, tipo de colegio y tiempo de servicio. Participaron en la investigación 764 docentes de secundaria de las siete USEs de Lima Metropolitana, de centros educativos estatales y no estatales. Los resultados del análisis psicométrico del test demuestran que el instrumento permite obtener puntajes confiables, a través del método de consistencia interna. OBJETIVOS: a. Estudiar el desarrollo de la comprensión lectora en niños de primer a tercer grado de primaria. b. Analizar el nivel de desarrollo de la comprensión de los alumnos de centros educativos estatales y no estatales en primero, segundo y tercer grado de primaria. c. Comparar el nivel de desarrollo de la comprensión lectora por sexo en primero, segundo y tercer grado de primaria. d. Establecer las propiedades psicométricas de los instrumentos utilizados. e. Estudiar el modelo del constructo de la comprensión lectora utilizando el análisis factorial confirmatorio.

Estudio descriptivo-comparativo realizado en alumnos de tercer año de secundaria de centros educativos estatales y no estatales. La muestra estuvo contituida por 679 participantes de las siete UGEL de Lima metropolitana. Se llevó a cabo el estudio psicométrico para evaluar la validez y la confiabilidad. El 64,5% de los alumnos de tercero de secundaria provenían de centros educativos estatales y el 35,5% de centros educativos no estatales. Se encontraron diferencias estadísticamente significativas en el nivel de comprensión lectora entre los alumnos de colegios estatales y no estatales, tanto en el nivel de comprensión lectora literal como en el inferencial.

Critical thinking disposition was researched in male and female students from different professional areas of a public university in Lima Metropolitan Area. One thousand three hundred seventy-six (1,376) university students were recruited using a non-probability quota sampling. Comparisons were made considering the participants’ different professional areas and sex. The results show that there are only significant statistical differences in the Curiosity dimension of the test according to the profes­sional areas of the university.  

DOI: 10.26439/persona2020.n023(1).4831 This research studies the interaction between social habilities and activity on internet social networks in fifth grade high school students of the town of Lima. The participants were 1066 students and the sample was a probabilistics one. We used a correlational design, as it was sought to determine the degree of relationship between two variables, in this case the index of relation between social habilities and the index of use of internet social networks in high school participants from a state and a non state institutions of the city of Lima. Results show a negative and significant interaction between the full score on the scale of social skills and the index of addiction to internet networks, as well as in the scores of most of the components of the results of the variables under study.
