The primary objective of the research was to determine the extent to which the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program changes the study habits in the academic performance of students in the last years of secondary school. Study habits such as study techniques, organizational skills, exam-preparation techniques, and techniques used in class, as well as students’ level of distractibility, were analyzed and compared. The study used a longitudinal design with three time points and a control group. The study started with a sample of 73 students; however, due to experimental mortality, the work was performed with 50 students, of which 29 made up the control group and 21 the experimental group. For the experimental group, when overall scores are examined in relation to study habits, the results show changes over time. Specifically, for the experimental group, changes were observed in stu...

Introduction: To design a postgraduate study plan is an relevant task for what is expected in the future about the training of its students. To implement it and to adapt it to the different demands that are manifested over time are major words. Objective: is to describe the synchronic and diachronic elements underlying the postgraduate program in Special Education at the FESZ since 1987 to date. It shows the evolution of the postgraduate course over time, the theoretical bases that support it, the situation teachers and students regarding graduation, no graduation and occupational level. Discussion: The dynamism from its implementation is recognized, the relationship that it has kept with various factors in which it has been immersed, both the administrative and academic of the institution as well as other external ones: political, economic, and scientific. It concludes with the contribu...

This research was aimed at determining to what extent factors prior to university admission, motivational factors, and institutional experiences explain the academic persistence of students in the University Leveling Term (CIU) at the Simon Bolivar University - Coastal Campus. An explanatory-type quantitative study was proposed, which involved a non-experimental cross-sectional retrospective causal relationship design. The sample consisted of 101 students (50.5% female) with an average age of 17.90 years (SD = 2.37). The study found a significant relationship between some variables explaining academic persistence, which were: a) having a lower orientation toward academic goals; b) a higher score on the maladaptive pattern; c) a higher score in the perception of the Mathematics professor’s evaluation; and d) a higher score in the final performance. This set of variables explains 56.4% o...

The social programs to combat poverty have been under permanent observation both by the beneficiaries of these programs and by the criticism they received for the political use that was given to them. Two major issues aroused interest in the study of these programs. First, because, despite the investment from the public treasury and the contributions from international cooperation for the strategy to combat poverty, the problems that persisted showed the poor focus of the investment, the loss of objectives, the leaking of aid and the dispersion of the programs, in addition to the serious problems of administration of the resources. Second, because reelectionist political campaigns were associated with the intensification and expansion of food support for urban and rural populations.

Objectives. To know the levels of child development and explore its relationship with socioeconomic status and maternal education. Methods. Quantitative – exploratory study done between March and August 2013. The study include information about 5859 children of 1- 24 months at the interview and their 5723 mothers (or primary caregiver), from 5620 rural homes. We applied an adapted version of Age and Stages Questionnaire ASQ-3 and a socio-demographic questionnaire. Results. Scores in the scales of communication and fine motor showed that, as age is higher, the gap in the results of the scales increases. In general, children less poor quartile in the sample obtain higher scores than children from the poorest to the five dimensions evaluated quartile. On the other hand, there are differences in the five scales and the total score between the scores achieved by children with mothers more a...

This paper studies the criminal liability of legal persons, which has suffered a deep reform with the organic law 1/2015, after being introduced in Spain in 2010. This reform has brought important modifications and news, as the creation of an exemption of liability through the adoption of compliance programs, which supposes a change in the so called model of transfer of liability, that existed before. Parallel to this transformation in the Spanish criminal code, in Peru recently the law 30424 has come into forth, which contents a corporate liability model, very similar to the one foreseen in Spain. Both models of liability and the possibility of its exemption raise doubts about if they really tried to penalize legal persons or not.

As of the validity of the New University Law 30220, the university quality assurance policy is applied, marking a milestone for the verification and supervision of basic quality conditions, in the case of teachers in training at the initial level of education no It has been the exception, and the implementation of the missionary process of the Pre-professional Practice has been designed in the study, in such a way that a value is generated at a pedagogical, institutional and social level. To achieve the objective, the study was developed with a mixed approach and a pre-experimental design that allowed to show the benefits of the research, obtaining results of significant improvement in the satisfaction of the students who take the Practice course by applying the T-Student test that gave a value of 4.860, which generated a p = 0.000 value lower than 0.05. Thus concluding that the implemen...
