Pollution originating from the life cycle of packaging is increasing and can have potentially irreversible consequences for the environment. In the beverage industry, the most common materials used for the production of primary packaging are glass and plastic. The objective of this study was to compare the environmental impacts of polyethylene terephthalate and glass bottles. The Leopold Matrix was applied to evaluate the environmental impact of the life cycle of both bottles, using information from a wide range of scientific articles and peer-reviewed indexed journals. The evaluation took into account the abiotic, biotic, and anthropic components generating negative consequences for ecosystems, human health, and fauna and flora. The adsorption of Cu (II) has been investigated for treated biomasses of orange shells, lemon shells and nopal, which contain pectin in its composition. The dry and crushed biomass was treated with NaOH, which produces the desmetoxilation of the pectin, later was treated with a solution 0,2 M of CaCl2, which allows improving the mechanical stability of the biomasses. The good pH in the process of bioadsorción of the Cu (II) was in the range of 4 - 4,5. The capacity biosorption these biomasses is evaluated in batch. The biosorption isotherms are described by the models of Langmuir and Freundlich. According to the pattern of Langmuir, the maximum capacities of adsorption (qmáx) of the treated biomasses were: shell of orange 36,23 mg/g, lemon 46,95 mg/g and nopal 44,25 mg/g.

Introduction: The literature on economics proposes different provider payment mechanisms at hospitals in order to obtain incentives in health care cost containment. Objectives: To analyze the theoretical foundations of implemented cost restraint instruments, payment associated to diagnosis (PAD), and payment for valued assistance (PFV) during the last two decades and their effectiveness on the Chilean sanitary system. The growing demand for functional foods has encouraged the development of innovative products using native ingredients with high nutritional value, such as Nostoc sphaericum (cushuro), a cyanobacterium traditionally consumed in high Andean regions. This study aimed to evaluate the nutritional profile and sensory acceptability of a snack made from cushuro collected in the Razuhuillca lagoon, Ayacucho, Peru. A screening experimental design was applied to analyze 13 formulations with variations in seven ingredients (two dehydrating agents, three stabilizers, and one pH regulator), followed by proximal analysis of the fresh and osmotic-dehydrated product, as well as sensory tests of four attributes. In the present work, a mathematical model is developed which involves the equations of fluid mechanics and the energy equation to determine the temperature field of the liquid steel that enters a container to solidify, a situation commonly found in production processes of steel today. Using mathematical techniques, a simplified equation of the energy equation is obtained in which a non-dimensional parameter Pe, the Peclet number, allows to evaluate the transport of the heat by convection to the transmission by diffusion occurred in the mold that contains liquid steel. Efluentes industriales conteniendo metales disueltos deben ser tratados para su disposición al ambiente a fin de cumplir con los niveles permitidos por la autoridad ambiental. The objective of the research was to estimate mathematical models for lead migration (μg/l) from a cellulose matrix using a neutral pH food simulant, taking two independent variables: total migration (mg/dm2 ) and the contact area (dm2 ), using multiple linear regression. The evaluated samples were two cellulose containers destined to the contact with food, being the origin of the cellulose from Chile and Brazil. Total and specific migration tests were carried out with the methodologies of Resolution No. 12 of MERCOSUR (1995) and method 3111 B of APHA (2005) respectively, under conditions of prolonged contact and at a temperature of 50 °C. The present investigation carried out a study on exposure to noise doses to workers in a company that manufactures, and markets hydrolytic glass containers type 1. The objective is to characterize the exposure profiles of the GES by comparing the results with the LMP. The study population is made up of all workers exposed to noise and the population of 103 and a sample of 45, the methodology used is that of the worst condition and according to the AIHA guidelines. The results were analyzed according to two indicators, maximum value for samples smaller than 6 and in case of higher evaluations it was analyzed under the UCL, obtaining as results 9 groups of GES, of which 89% present a level of exposure without hearing protection greater than the LMP.

Introduction: The evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic varies in each population; it has been complicating health systems worldwide. Objective: to analyze the evolution of the Covid-19 pandemic, estimating the effect of the containment measures practiced in Peru. Material and Method: The SIR epidemiological mathematical modeling was applied, estimating the COVID-19 evolution in our population. Data analysis was performed following the SIR mathematical model with defined ordinary differential equations to simulate epidemiological behavior; and it was executed in the RStudio programming language. This paper deals with a particular kind of phraseological units present in thespeech of the Quechua-speaking users of the dialect of Ayacucho: nominal and verbal locutions of the human body (somatisms). The analysis of these units is focusedon the description and explanation of the cultural context that motivates themeaning these expressions show in the Andean mentality. Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) is a widely used material in container manufacturing, particularly in bottle production. It is characterized by its low cost and widespread availability. However, its improper disposal has significantly exacerbated global plastic pollution. For instance, less than 50% of plastic bottles are recycled. Moreover, studies indicate that this issue has led to a significant accumulation of plastic waste in the oceans, which continues to grow annually and could be considered floating islands of debris. This study proposes replacing PET with polylactic acid (PLA), a biodegradable and biocompatible polymer with suitable properties for bottle production. El cáncer de mama es una patología prevalente; la neoplasia papilar intraquistica representa solo el 1% de todos ellos, pueden ser divididos en infiltrantes y no infiltrantes. Se presenta el caso de una mujer de 46 años, que acude por un tumor de mama izquierda sospechoso, con biopsia core sin evidencia de carcinoma, se decidió realizar una Resección local radical de tumor con diagnóstico papiloma intraductal con carcinoma ductal in situ, se realizó cirugía de ampliación de márgenes y biopsia de ganglio centinela con técnica de azul patente con resultado negativo, seguida de Radioterapia. Este reporte resalta la importancia de considerar que las lesiones papilares pueden albergar lesiones malignas, por lo que es recomendable realizar exéresis completa de la lesión para realizar un tratamiento adecuado.

In Lima during the summer months, ambulatory sales do not meet quality standards for the sale of bottled water. A recent study by Shotyk et al, reported elevated levels of antimony in potable water stored in polyethylene terephthalate (PET) containers1 For this reason, the concentration of antimony in bottled water was studied in three samples during the months of February and March of 2013 of ambulatory sale on Alfonso Ugarte and Nicolás de Piérola avenues of metropolitan Lima in relation to the environmental temperature of sampling and the time of packaging. This paper analyses the new criterion of “rational administration of assets”, provided for in the bankruptcy crime of article 463 of the Chilean Penal Code, recently amended by the Economic Crimes Law, No. 21,595 of August 2023. For such purposes, the article compares this standard with other equivalent criterions, such as “orderly economic management” or “diligence in the management of economic affairs”. The paper concludes that, beyond the terminological issue, all these standards point in the same direction. Additionally, the article highlights that the Chilean criterion is not only more precise and adequate in criminal law matters, but can also have a broad scope, capable of extending to crimes such as disloyal administration or fraud against the State.
