Background: the existence of specific effects of emotion on text comprehension in adults has been experimentally verified. However, there is no information regarding adolescents, which is relevant for the design of interventions. Objective: this research study aims to assess whether dimensionallyconceptualized emotional states (valence, arousal and dominance) affect the comprehension and retrieval of written texts in adolescents. Method: following instrument validation, three experiments (n = 468) were performed. They consisted in inducing emotions which differed in one dimension (valence, arousal or dominance) and kept others the same, in order to assess the role of each dimension on comprehension and retrieval processes (i.e., positive vs. negative valence; stable arousal and dominance in experiment 1). Results: the results indicate that valence has an impact on text comprehension and ...

This article describes and discusses the fundamental concepts of Econometric Analysis using a concrete application that allows illustrating the proper use of econometric techniques to econometrics students, and in general to people interested in using these techniques. The estimation period of the application covers 16 years, in which the author uses the aforementioned techniques to analyze the behavior of the manufacturing sector. To illustrate the concepts and use of econometrics in estimation and analysis, the “Stepswise” technique is used, which allows presenting the different statistics that indicate the degree of success achieved with each of the estimated equations, and the main problems of the analysis regression (multicollinearity, autocorrelation). In addition, criteria are presented to choose the best among the estimated equations. Finally, it is emphasized that the resear...

The study primarily focuses on the analysis and comparison of intrusion detection techniques in network environments, with the objective of evaluating the impact of Intrusion Detection Systems (IDSs) on data protection. It also aims to understand how these techniques have adapted to emerging threats and evaluate their effectiveness in detecting malicious activities. To achieve this, a systematic review of documents stored in the IEEE Xplore, Redalyc, and ScienceDirect databases between 2019 and 2023 was conducted. The analysis reveals that intrusion detection techniques have evolved significantly to address constantly changing cyber threats. Specifically, machine learning-based techniques and behavior analysis have proven to be effective in reducing false positives. However, to keep up to date with the threats, constant management and updating of these techniques is required. Furthermore...

This study focused on analyzing the possible pedagogical causes of the differences in the results obtained by second-year students from two rural educational institutions in Tacna in the Census Student Assessment (ECE) and the assessment of COMPETENCY 8 (Reads various types of written texts in the mother tongue) conducted in 2019. A mixed methodological strategy was employed, involving documentary review techniques (to obtain statistical data) and interviews (to gather testimonies from teachers in the Communication area) —made in 2020— to delve into the perceptions and experiences of students regarding classroom assessment processes and the ECE development processes. The analysis of the data led to the conclusion that the reasons for the differences in results are primarily due to pedagogical factors on the one hand, and emotional factors on the other, specifically the stress and fat...

Currently, in Peru we face numerous scenarios that are beyond the scope of our current regulations. An example of this is the case of assisted reproduction techniques, where the regulations are minimal and not very specific. This means that, in cases where these techniques are used, there is no proper regulation, causing multiple consequences and uncertainties. In this way, and given the legal loophole produced by the absence of a clear rule, many people who resort to these techniques to fulfill their wishes of becoming parents must employ various legal strategies to regularize the situation of minors born through their use, from maternity impugnation processes to adoption judicial processes. This often results in prolonged judicial litigation that affects several fundamental rights of minors, such as the right to know their biological truth, the right to have a stable family, and the ri...

The present research aimed to analyze the levels of reading comprehension achieved by university students and the teaching strategies that can enhance this skill. A systematic review was conducted based on the PRISMA method, identifying 48 articles published since 2020. The findings indicate that, although some students manage to reach the literal level, the majority demonstrate a poor command of reading comprehension, particularly in critical and appreciative understanding. Among the most commonly used teaching strategies to improve this indicator are the highlighting technique, identifying main ideas, the SQA methodology (Know, Want to know, Learned), metacognitive summaries, concept maps, and interactive strategies mediated by ICT. In conclusion, it is essential to implement these strategies, as reading comprehension directly impacts students' academic performance and professional dev...
