Pollutants inside at houses are smoking, gas combustion, use of solvents, household cleaning chemicals, emissions from building materials, and contamination of the exterior aggravates the inside of the house. In this article, we conducted a study to select the best air purifier equipment for an urban house. The selection was carried out by applying the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) methodology. In this study, three alternatives were proposed for the evaluation of the air purifier equipment: Bap1700, Bap600 and Bap706; which were ranked according to the criteria: scope, characteristics, and model. To carry out the selection using AHP, a panel of four experts were selected for this study. In this paper, we determined that the best air purifier equipment was the A1 alternative: Air Purifier Bap1700.

The development of new processes in the textile industry entails designing methodologies to select adequate supplies that fit these new processes requirements. This paper presents a methodology used to select a textile binder that fulfill technical specifications of a new process to produce nonwoven fabrics, highlighting mainly its ability to form a protective film on the textile fibers and cohesion them without staining, weakening or breaking them. The proposed methodology involves three major phases: (1) consulting textile experts, (2) laboratory tests, and (3) factor weighting. The results indicate that there are two products that can be used in this new process: Arkofil and Size plus AC.

Dearth of information exists on the effects of planting dates and genotypes on grasshopper (Zonocerus variegatus L.) infestation and dry matter accumulation in the root organ of cassava. An experiment was conducted at the School of Agriculture and Food Sciences Experimental site of Njala University site during 2007/2008 and 2015/2016 cropping seasons. This study assessed the effects of planting date and cassava genotypes on grasshopper infestation and root dry matter accumulation in cassava. Gas sensors are fundamental for continuous online monitoring of volatile organic com-pounds. Gas sensors based on semiconductor materials have demonstrated to be highly competitive, but are generally made of expensive materials and operate at high temperatures, which are draw-backs of these technologies. Herein is described a novel ethanol sensor for room temperature (25◦C) measurements based on hematite (α-Fe2O3 )/silver nanoparticles. The AgNPs were shown to increase the oxide semiconductor charge carrier density, but especially to enhance the ethanol adsorption rate boosting the selectivity and sensitivity, thus allowing quantification of ethanol vapor in 2–35 mg L−1 range with an excellent linear relationship. The present work reports the successful synthesis of a novel Pb2+ ion-imprinted polymer (Pb-IIP) based on a rhodizonate-like selective ligand by precipitation. Three functional monomers, namely acid acrylic (ACRY), 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropane sulfonic acid (AMPSA) and allylamine (ALLY), were chosen by computer simulation using density functional theory (DFT). The materials obtained were applied for the selective removal of Pb2+ from aqueous solutions and were characterized by Fourier transform Infra-red (FTIR), scanning electronic microscopy (SEM) and flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS). This work investigates the timing, paleoclimatic framework and inter-hemispheric teleconnections inferred from the glaciers last maximum extension and the deglaciation onset in the Arid Tropical Andes. A study area was selected to the northeastward of the Nevado Coropuna, the volcano currently covered by the largest tropical glacier on Earth. The current glacier extent, the moraines deposited in the past and paleoglaciers at their maximum extension have been mapped. The present and past Equilibrium Line Altitudes (ELA and paleoELA) have been reconstructed and the chlorine-36 ages have been calculated, for preliminary absolute dating of glacial and volcanic processes. Los reservorios de petróleo y gas en todo el mundo a menudo tienen estructuras geológicas estratificadas debido a procesos sedimentarios a lo largo del tiempo geológico. Esta estratificación dificulta la evaluación geológica de cada capa, ya que a menudo se tratan a todas como un reservorio independiente. Este trabajo de investigación propone la mejora de gestión de inventarios de la empresa Importaciones y Distribuciones Granados SRL, en donde se identificaron problemas acerca de la rotura de stock de un 33% ocasionando un ingreso no percibido de S/1 012 898,69, tiene un nivel de servicio del 84%, la empresa posee baja rotación de productos, esto simboliza un 33% del dinero paralizado, teniendo un total de ingresos no percibidos de S/1 301 092,45.
