Introduction. The educational model focused on learning attempts to provide the student a more important role in the process of acquiring knowledge, for this it is necessary to identify preferences or learning style of the students. Objectives. Analysis the influence of the use of active methodology and learning styles in students of the methodology course of undergraduate research. Methods. Quantitative study of quasi-experimental, prospective longitudinal design, the study population consisted of undergraduate students of the research methodology course. A non-probabilistic sample was used for convenience, consisting of 79 students. The instrument used was the learning style test developed by David Kolb. The implementation of the active methodology was carried out during the development of the course. Results The participation of the students during the development of classes and the u...

One of the most important problems of the Ecuadorian system of public higher education in exact sciences is the low approval rate of applicants, which results in a delay in entering the University, greater fiscal investment in human and technological resources, and wasted access to the university due to subsequent desertion. Recognizing the advantages of the application of an innovative teaching-learning methodology, called Active Learning, compared to the traditional methodology and building a forecast model for academic performance in the admission system can be favorable to reduce this problem. The objective of this work is to determine through a binary logistic regression model if the innovative methodology of Active Learning in the Admission System of a Public University will allow a learning process of higher academic performance at the end of the admission course compared to the a...

Background Active Learning using smartphone technology can be implemented as a tool for teaching medical students (MS) and residents (Rs). The use of technology would increase participation and enhance student learning by engaging them in solving ID clinical case scenarios. Our objective was to describe the methods used and to share the opinions of the users of such active learning methods. Methods The smartphone applications used were Socrative and WhatsApp. We used Socrative during the Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC) ID course for MS in two different ways. In selected lectures (4 of 32), teacher paced questions were asked based on clinical scenarios related to the topic reviewed, and by voluntary homework questionnaires (student paced). At the British American Hospital (BAH) Medicine Department (MS and Rs) Socrative was used similarly: during some noon lectures (teacher...

This article aims to a research problem that emphasizes the necessity to guide and organize schoolchildren’s cognitive activities. In a situation when cognition becomes the leading activity, new opportunities are opened up for the organization of the whole educational process, including its other aspects such as – development, and learning. The experiment conducted revealed problem points of organizing the process of cognition as well as the necessity for collecting additional data for a future experiment. The paper also puts forward the idea of a correlation between the hierarchical system of principles of education and types of adequacy.

Introduction. The metaverse is a construction of universes operated in digital environments where users connect to alternate realities on an identity platform through avatars that reflect their appearance, physical movements, body and facial expressions. Objective. To identify teachers’ knowledge about the metaverse and propose pedagogical strategies that support its incorporation into the thematic content of the subjects. Method. 68 teachers working in higher education institutions between 36 and 55 years of age participated. A non-parametric test (Chi-Square) was applied to identify possible relationships between the variable Knowledge of the Metaverse and the activities of teachers on technological trends, adaptation and learning dynamics on artificial intelligence of students. Results. It was identified that only 46 % of the teaching staff knows what the Metaverse is and that non-p...
