We report on multinucleon effects in low momentum transfer (< 0.8 GeV=c) antineutrino interactions on plastic (CH) scintillator. These data are from the 2010–2011 antineutrino phase of the MINERvA experiment at Fermilab. The hadronic energy spectrum of this inclusive sample is well described when a screening effect at a low energy transfer and a two-nucleon knockout process are added to a relativistic Fermi gas model of quasielastic, Δ resonance, and higher resonance processes. In this analysis, model elements introduced to describe previously published neutrino results have quantitatively similar benefits for this antineutrino sample. We present the results as a double-differential cross section to accelerate the investigation of alternate models for antineutrino scattering off nuclei.

Nowadays, wireless sensor devices have received wide attention across medical application areas; among them, implantable sensing devices are between the most important because of the contribution they make to healthcare and investigations. Nevertheless, the implantable sensing devices must be tested before pre-clinical or in-vivo studies are initiated and test benches are used to perform this previous tests. For this reason, this thesis presents the design and implementation of a test bench to acquire the data from an implantable sensing device that is being developed and will be used to sense the pressure within the thoracic cavity of mammals. The test bench consists on: a sealed container with two connections to increase and sense the internal pressure and is the environment where the sensor will be tested, and a wireless communication system that will acquire and process the sensor’...

During the period 5-13 October 1984 a coordinated solar-terrestrial data base was acquired to develop a comprehensive understanding and an associated predictive capability for the cause-effect relationships which control the global-scale ionosphere. The effort, the first in a series of continuing investigations in a program called SUNDIAL, combined modelling of the ionospheric, magnetospheric, and thermospheric domains with a measurements activity that included a network of ionospheric monitoring stations at high-, middle-, and low latitudes in the American, European/African, and Asian/Australian sectors. Solar, solar wind, interplanetary, and geomagnetic data were also obtained through the NOAA Space Environment Services Center. The period began with nearly two full days of typically quiescent solar mínimum conditions, with the night of the 6th marking a transition to a substantial inc...

This paper analyzes the process of university-industry technology transfer (UITT) and innovation activity among universities in Mexico. The objective of this paper is twofold. First, it presents the main results from the University-Industry Technology Transfer Activity survey in Mexico (UITTAM) (UITTAM, 2018). Second, it investigates the process of UITT activity in Mexico, applying the Qualitative Comparative Analysis (QCA) methods developed by C.C. Ragin (1987, 2000, 2006, 2008). In so doing, the QCA model computed in this research makes use of data released from the UITTAM.

The fate of the organic matter (OM) produced by marine life controls the major biogeochemical cycles of the Earth's system. The OM produced through photosynthesis is either preserved, exported towards sediments or degraded through remineralisation in the water column. The productive eastern boundary upwelling systems (EBUSs) associated with oxygen minimum zones (OMZs) would be expected to foster OM preservation due to low O₂ conditions. But their intense and diverse microbial activity should enhance OM degradation. To investigate this contradiction, sediment traps were deployed near the oxycline and in the OMZ core on an instrumented moored line off Peru. Data provided high-temporal-resolution O₂ series characterising two seasonal steady states at the upper trap: suboxic ([O₂] < 25µmolkg−1) and hypoxic–oxic (15 < [O₂] < 160µmolkg−1) in austral summer and winte...

Purpose – Much research has been conducted on how consumption is related to human relationships. Only a scarcity of studies has examined brand and product selection, as well as the consumption activities that individuals follow when pursuing a sense of group belonging. The literature comprises a single theoretical framework describing this phenomenon, a nascent proposition on which further research remains undeveloped. This study aims to examine the transferability of that theoretical framework in a different context to that used for its elaboration and its descriptive scope on purchasing goods and engaging inn consumption activities to leverage belonging. Design/methodology/approach – A deductive qualitative case study and pattern matching analysis technique were used, followed by structural coding analysis of interview data. Findings – Findings reveal that the model is transferab...

Currently, textile processing plants need to control the conditions associated with the spinning process, being the air conditioning of working environments an important factor in the quality and productivity of these processes. The benefits obtained from the optimization of this air conditioning help to guide a lower energy consumption, helping to improve the positioning of the products and providing profitability in the operation processes. Due to the advantages obtained in the air conditioning process, this work proposes a system that allows reusing the residual energy generated at the outlet of the ventilation ducts. This residual energy is fed into the plant to reduce the high temperatures observed in the ceiling. Consequently, this approach will generate a decrease in the service demand of the air conditioning system and reduce operating costs. Also, to verify this proposal, a mult...
