ABSTRACT Approximately 15 percent of renal cell carcinoma (RCC) present as locally advanced or metastatic, where surgery is not curative. The prognosis of patients with advanced or metastatic CRC can vary from a few months to a few years, depending on the clinical, pathological, and radiological characteristics of the disease. The advent of the use of anti-monoclonal-based immunotherapy as checkpoint inhibitors in initial systemic therapy for advanced clear cell RCC. We will present a clinical case where immunotherapy plays a role through the use of anti-monoclonal drugs to treat a male patient with metastatic kidney disease who presents a clinical response after surgical treatment and immunotherapy for 2 years without evidence of oncological disease to date.

Objective: To identify clinical oncological characteristics and overall survival in patients with seminoma and non-seminoma germ cell testicular tumor. Methods: Retrospective study in patients with seminoma and non-seminoma germ cell testicular tumors, attended at the Central Military Hospital CRL LUIS ARIAS SCHREIBER, from January 2004 to January 2014. Study variables: tumor markers, stage and treatment. Finally, global survival was realized. Results: During the study period from January 2004 to January 2014, a total of 26 patients were registered with histopathological diagnosis of germ cell tumor between seminomas and nonseminomas. Histopathologically, the most frequent type was germ cell tumor was non-seminoma type (69.23%), 33% of its variants were mixed tumor type, followed by pure choriocarcinoma with 28%, pure embryonic carcinoma 17% , 11% yolk sac and 11% pure teratoma...

Lung cancer is one of the tumors that have the ability to metastasize in the brain and have the ability to penetrate the blood-brain barrier, the clinic is varied depending on the affected site, as well as the associated risks of convulsion. Therefore, the choice of treatment is complex, considering the primary, the number of metastases and the affected sites. El objetivo fue evaluar el efecto antitumoral del látex de Synadenium grantii Hook en el tratamiento del cáncer de mama inducido por 7,12-dimetilbenzo[a]antraceno (DMBA) en ratas albinas. Se utilizó un diseño experimental cuantitativo. Cuarenta ratas albinas divididas aleatoriamente en cuatro grupos: Control negativo con solución salina fisiológica (SSF); Control positivo recibió DMBA (20 mg) y se administró SSF (2 mL/kg) sin tratamiento adicional; y dos grupos de tratamiento que recibieron DMBA y látex de Synadenium grantii a diferentes dosis (0,2 mL/kg y 0,5 mL/kg, respectivamente). Objetives: To determine the antihypertensive effect and lethal dose (LD) 50 of the fruit juice and ethanolic extract from Passiflora edulis leaves in rats. Design: Prospective, analytic-experimental, preclinical in vivo study.
