The objective of this study was to determine the effects of diclofenac, etoricoxib, ibuprofen and paracetamol on the magnitude of orthodontic tooth movement. 50 Holtzman rats participated in 5 groups of 10 rats each. At the beginning of study the distance between the angles inciso-distals of both maxillary incisive was measured in each animal, using a caliper, and immediately an orthodontic device with a reciprocal action force of 35 g. was adhered to them. Each group received different treatments intraperitoneally (A: NaCl, control group, B: diclofenac, C: etoricoxib, D: ibuprofen, E: paracetamol) for 5 days. In all controls made the 1st, 3rd, 5th and 7th days, interincisive distance was significantly lower in the ibuprofen and diclofenac groups, without significant difference in the etoricoxib and paracetamol groups; all compared with control group. It was shown that administration of ...

This work documents the first record of Anthias noeli Anderson & Baldwin, 2000 in Peru. Between 2016 and 2019, fifteen specimens were captured from the littoral of the Tumbes Department, located in the northernmost of Peru. Fresh photographs were taken of the specimens and meristic and morphometric analyses were conducted for species identification. Additionally, muscle tissue was extracted from five individuals to determine COI gene sequences. Phylogenetic analyses confirmed the specimens' identity as A. noeli, and the sequences were deposited in the public database BOLD Systems, representing the first deposited sequences for this species. This record expands the southern distribution of A. noeli.

Recent evidence suggests that late reperfusion of an occluded infarct-related artery (IRA) after acute myocardial acute infarction (MAI), may reduce the frecuency of subsequent arrhythmic events and sudden death. Mechanical reperfusion of an occluded IRA, performing percutaneous trasluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA) 48 to 2 weeks after MAI, has a big success rate, and low symptomatic restenosis. Twenty subjects (19 men and 1 women, aged 32 to 77 year) with a first MAI, signal-averaged electrocardiographic (SAECG), and an occluded IRA were prospectively identified. Late potentials were present in 14 patients after MAI. Eighteenth had a successful PTCA of the occluded IRA, 6 to 32 days after MAI. Follow-up SAECG was performed 1 to 8 days later. In the subgroup of 12 patients with successful reperfusion with an abnormal SAECG before PTCS, 7 (58,3%) showed resolution of late potentials at ...

Understanding the importance of the ethical training of medical students, requires analyzing the current reality of medical education to determine what ethical and moral criteria medical students should be instilled during their training so that they are excellent professionals with ethical responsibility and legal by focusing teaching on the student as a person, on technical excellence to be a good doctor, and on moral excellence, to be a good doctor. Therefore, you must understand that the patient as a person and their context should be the axis of medical care by complementing bi-directionally with science and humanism, making the patient the supreme end of medicine and not as a simple carrier of diseases, seeking their well-being, not causing harm, respecting their autonomy and justice in decisions that must be prudent, responsible and moral.
