We reported a clinical case of crossed vestibular posterior bilateral bite identified as the Brodie bite that compromises the use of a bonded removable appliance with reverse screw action in the upper maxillary and the use of lower Bihelix. The purpose of modifications of the design permits the expansion appliance to be used in reverse mode mainly in the correction of the Brodie bite in the early mixed dentition. The goals of the treatment were to achieve the correct interception between the teeth of the upper and lower jawbone, to eliminate the mandibular entrapment and the correction of the crossed vestibular posterior bilateral bite.

The maxillary bone the same as the periodontal ligament experiences constant changes when light forces are used, however, they are persistent during the orthodontic treatments. The tooth is treated as body deformable that separates the periodontal ligament and of the bone. The formation and bony resorption happen in a continuous way, but a physiologic balance exists between both. Under normal conditions, the bone suffers constant resorption and in other the regular state of that moment is conserved. The physiologic state of the bone depends on the age and its functions. It is cIear that the speed of resorption and bone apposition will depend on the answer settled down by the function; however, during the movement dentario through the bone for orthodontic forces, Ule thickness of the ligament remains in a constant value.

The presence of retained teeth is very common in children, excluding third molars, they are the most frequently. Most of these teeth are exposed surgically following its orthodontic direction within the dental arches. In orthodontic treatrnent we have the system "Ballista Spring" and the "Mouse Trap" that will allow us the solve limitations of another systems.

We reporte a cros~bite clinic case involving the use of a rigid acrylic-bonded palatal expansion appliance. The proposed design modifications allow the expansion appliance to be used in patients of any dental age and overall in the cross bite correction in the early deciduous dentition. The treatment plan and objectives were to expand the maxilla, elimina te the functional shift and posterior and anterior crossbite correction.

The space maintainer with subgingival extension like a distal wedge is an alternative treatment to prevent dental space loss or to preserve it where it has been lost temporaly second molar before permanent first molar eruption. This is a fixed mantained that fulfills its function with great success because of its permanent position, improving this way poor child collaboration. Here we show a clinical case with acceptable results

The diagnostic and treatment of the pieces held its necessary, to avoid later complications that could endanger the dental arc integrity. Therefore we are planning a multidisciplinary work that will include an early evaluation of the piece until the are will be in perfect line up using the Odontopediatrics and Surgery services (as a first stage). The traction orthodontic with removing devices; later to the surgery exposition could be unique or propose like the first part of the treatment more complex in agreement with the necessity of each patient. In this article we propose a short theory and the proposal of one clinic case of patient who arrived to the service of the Faculty in 2002.

The adult usually offers resistance to the conventional orthodontic treatments, due to the need of using visible brackets such as metallic or esthetic porcelain. The concept of Invisible esthetic Orthodontics or Lingual Orthodontics covers the expectations of this type of patient. The multibrackets technique with lingual instruments is approximately 25 years old and with the experience of the treated cases, we have conceived a totally formal technique. This article it is an up-to-date revision of the different publications of Lingual Orthodontics, where one keeps in mind the history and the development of the lingual appliance, the diagnosis and treatment plan, the clinical and laboratory phases, the lingual mechanotherapy, the current tendencies and perspectives of the future of the lingual technique.

Objective: To evaluate the cranial base deflection in different skeletal class patients. Materials and method: Descriptive and retrospective study included cephalometric radiographs of 318 Peruvian children, with an age range from 6 to 12 years selected from the School of Dentistry at San Marcos University and the Orthodontics and Maxillofacial Orthopedics Department at Children’s National Health Institute taken between 2000 and 2015. Cranial base deflection was evaluated taking NSBa angle as a reference and compared with the three skeletal classes taking ANB angle as a reference. Sex and age were also compared. Results: Cranial base deflection value was 132°± 4.85°. In Class I group it was 132.23°±5°, in Class II group: 132.21°±4.81° and in Class III group: 130.23°±4.29° (significant differences were found p < 0.05). Cranial base deflection in females was 131.9°±4...

Objective: To evaluate the differences in length and deflection of the anterior cranial base in patients with different skeletal patterns, was the objective of the investigation. Materials and method: The study design was observational, descriptive and cross-sectional. The sample was conformed by 310 cephalometric radiographs of 6 to 12 year-old patients divided into three groups. Cephalometric radiographs were evaluated through the cephalometric tracing. The variables evaluated were: length of the sella-nasion line and the angle formed between the sella-nasion line and Frankfort horizontal plane. Data were statistically analyzed using the Kruskal-Wallis and U Mann-Whitney tests (p <0.05). Results: It was found significant differences in length and deflection of the anterior cranial base of skeletal class III group (60.40+4.31 mm, 7+2.11°) compared to class I group (68.36+3.76 mm, 8....
