This paper involves a practical approach to perform quality-control/quality-assessment of concrete using vibration-based NDT. The first component is the analysis of compressive strength and dynamic E-modulus of concrete samples from various construction projects. The second component involves continuous measurements of E-Moduli as a function of curing time in laboratory-controlled specimens. The experimental program allowed proposing a correlation to predict the expected static and dynamic E-modulus at 28 days from their measurement at any instant of the curing process. A similar relationship is proposed to predict compressive strength at 28 days based on the dynamic E-modulus measured at earlier ages.

The management of hospital institutions is becoming more and more complex. The current situation requires abandoning functional management models for operational ones that integrate preventive, curative, and managerial functions efficiently to raise the quality of care. This article analyzes the evolution of process management practices in the administration of hospital services. Bibliographic and documentary review, participatory scientific observation, interviews, and observation of the processes are used to determine key variables for the analysis of models, complemented with a descriptive quantitative bibliometric analysis of the main applications of the functions of operations management in hospital systems. The functions most used in hospital models and their influence on the quality of care processes are determined.

In 14 women with cervical factor infertility functional postcoital tests preovulatory 30 days, with accurate counts of spermatozoa in mucus cervicaI and intrauterine contents were made. The values are compared with the breasts of 19 women, multiparous. A normal patient and two infertile were followed with serial through a full cycle. Exact quantification of mucus crystallization, made by a new method, proved to be a good criterion for evaluating the cervical penetrability. A intracervical level infertile group results were not significantly different from controls; a slight decrease of mobile sperm directional no practical value. By contrast, intrauterine level in infertile sperm group were detected in only 7 of the 30 cases with very low concentrations; in the control group were 18 of 19 cases. It emphasizes the value of intrauterine sperm count, much higher than intracervical tests. Th...

The main function of educational leadership is to cope with educational change. However, pedagogical practice shows that not all educational managers are prepared to effectively lead the initiatives and pedagogical innovations that arise in schools to continuously achieve better quality indices. Limitation provoked in the fundamental, by the tendency at world-wide level to conceive the most curricular designs of postgrado oriented towards the formation of competences of professionals for the investigation. It is a methodological error to leave to the spontaneity in the educational directors the development of competences for the management of the innovations, since the management of the quality is conditional of significant way by the scientific and innovative character of the process. It is the objective of this paper to reflect on the contributions of the author through postgraduate ac...
