The objective of this research is to optimize the communication and interaction between members of educational institutions, using a mobile application to improve service quality of the institution. By using the database with the information collected by the institution, as an important source for the integration and collection of education sector information, each institution is considered as an entity; it could be said that all the people who interact with it are the population, which needs to be connected and communicated with each other to subsist. Based on the exposed premises, a mobile application is designed to gather all users that interact with the same institution in a single platform. Thus, users are connected and communicated with each other by determining specific roles, which will have specific functions enabled for each type of user.

In biometrics technology, the fingerprint identification problem has been widely studied over the last decades due to its applicability in person identification cases. In casualty cases, recognition of the victim is required, which should be done unequivocally using fingerprint identification. The aim of this research is to innovate the fingerprint identification process, developing an efficient search method in a large database that allows finding a fingerprint in less time by classifying fingerprints into segments, according to their closest characteristics, using machine learning. Then, in a given segment, a discrete linear search algorithm is applied, with which the required fingerprint is located.

The following research paper presents a solution to the problem of high cost of digital storage of images used in various fields such as engineering, medicine, education, architecture, management, entertainment, etc. The solution is based on the implementation of a compression method used in image processing is that of clustering, in which the algorithm ant colony is used, in order to reduce the size of the color palette used to represent an image. This will reduce the storage size of the image without affecting the display of the same by the person.

El siguiente trabajo de investigación presenta una solución para el problema del alto costo de almacenamiento digital de las imágenes usadas en diversos campos como ingeniería, medicina, educación, arquitectura, administración, entretenimiento, etc. La solución está basada en la aplicación de un método de compresión utilizado en el procesamiento de imágenes que es el de clustering; en donde se usa el algoritmo de colonia de hormigas, con la finalidad de reducir el tamaño de la paleta de colores utilizada para representar una imagen. Con ello se logra reducir el tamaño de almacenamiento de la imagen sin que esto afecte la visualización de la misma por parte de la persona.
