The article reviews the state of the art and theoretical concepts needed to develop a proposed solution to the Facility Layout Problem FLP. Article concepts such as meta heuristics, evolutionary computation, evolutionary programming, genetic algorithms, aimed to propose an alternative solution to the difficult problem of plant distribution are examined.

El objetivo de la investigación es desarrollar un algoritmo genético para optimizar la distribución en planta en organizaciones de manufactura. Al ser este, un problema combinatorio de optimización, el algoritmo resulta de gran utilidad en la toma de decisiones. Esta investigación es de tipo experimental por simulación. Se propone un algoritmo en dos pasos que emplea la estructura del árbol de cortes y la metodología por algoritmos genéticos. Para probar el algoritmo se desarrolla una aplicación informática que combina programación genética, programación concurrente y se ejecuta en la nube bajo el sistema operativo Linux. The Research Institute of the Faculty of Industrial Engineering is spread through much of their contributions as other universities nationally and internationally for Industrial Data magazine, which this time presents 16 research papers divided into three sections level: production and Management, Design and Technology, and Systems and Informatics; the quality and relevance of the articles published in this journal offers readers the opportunity to meet and investigate everything that has been offering the service of companies , educational institutions and society as a whole, to support resolve the multiple problems that afflict and titillation to develop other research.

El presente año es un año de cambios. Cambio de gobierno para el país, cambio del Estatuto y de las autoridades de la Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos. Todo cambio alberga una esperanza de mejora en el rumbo de una institución. En ese sentido, se espera que tanto el poder ejecutivo como el legistativo y la Universidad combinen esfuerzos en la aspiración de la excelencia académica y el apoyo a la formulación y ejecución de políticas que abran espacios para formar y apoyar a los investigadores, brindándoles espacios profesionales a fin de que puedan generar ingresos que les permitan dedicarse a tiempo completo a la labor investigativa y que, a su vez, los resultados de este esfuerzo contribuyan al desarrollo del Perú.
