OBJETIVE: To determine the quality of life of climacteric patients. DESIGN: Prospective descriptive study, survey type. PLACE: Menopause Unit of the Specialized Maternal Perinatal Institute of Lima, in 2002. MATERIAL AND METHODS: One hundred and ten new climacteric patients were surveyed by Hiditch test. RESULTS: 52% were comprised between 45 and 54 years old; 49% are natural posmenoausea. The most common symptoms were anxiety or nervousness in 89% (98 cases), musculoskeletal pain 90% (98), depression in 83% (92) and headache in 79% (87). When applying logistic regression it was observed that the loss of quality of life in these women are mainly in the physical psychosocial areas (4.64 ± 1.52) and (4.14 ± 1.32) and does not depend on age or sociodemographic variables, but essentially to be in menopause. Postmenopausal women in the presence of abnormal uterine bleeding spontaneously and unexpectedly requires rigorous evaluation to determine the source of the bleeding. The most common cause of postmenopausal bleeding is endometrial atrophy and endometrial polyp; however, must be ruled endometrial cancer is the cause in about 10 percent of patients. The gold standard for evaluating the endometrium is transvaginal ultrasonography and endometrial biopsy, which are two key components that help reach an accurate diagnosis.

The genitourinary syndrome of menopause clinically is evident 4 to 5 years after menopause, and objective changes arepresent in 25-50% of all postmenopausal women. The most frequent symptoms are vaginal dryness ( 75%), dyspareunia(38%), and vaginal itching, vaginal discharge and pain (15%); and the diagnosis is based on clinical criteria. The principlestherapeutic are based on the restoration of urogenital physiology and relief of symptoms; including non-hormonal / lubricanttherapeutic options, systemic hormonal therapy, local estrogen therapy and other alternatives. Fetal growth restriction (RCF) is a clinical circumstance in which the fetus does not express its genetic potential for growth and as a final result a decrease in body weight occurs, which is below the 10th percentile for gestational age, in a selected growth curve. Among the etiological factors include: maternal, fetal and placental causes. It is classified as Precocious and late. The appropriate time for delivery is determined by gestational age and fetal condition.

Strategies in climacteric management have changed in recent years as a result of recent research results in this area, since not only hormonal and non-hormonal therapy are used; Rather, changes in lifestyle, including diet and exercise, can help reduce the symptoms of menopause; other therapeutic measures must be used individually according to the needs of each patient (1). The clinic during the climacteric is variable; However, vasomotor symptoms (SVM) and genitourinary menopause syndrome (GMS) are cardinal symptoms of menopause (1).
