Máximos de viento en niveles bajos de la atmósfera ocurren frecuentemente sobre el mar peruano frente a la costa, denominados chorros o jets costeros. Estos jets costeros tienen un papel importante en la dinámica oceánica e impactos significativos en el clima y la ecología regional, así como en una serie de actividades humanas, por lo que las investigaciones sobre ellos son de mucha importancia. Este estudio presenta las características (frecuencia de ocurrencia, altura, intensidad y dirección) de los jets costeros frente a la costa peruana, usando datos de simulación atmosférica a alta resolución (7 km) con el modelo regional WRF, para el periodo 1994-2003, siguiendo un conjunto de criterios basado en el análisis de perfiles verticales del viento y de temperatura. The purpose of the present study was to elaborate and apply a strategy based on the resolution of problems in the achievement of learning of parallel and perpendicular lines in geometrical figures in students of third grade of primary level, curricular area of mathematics. For the application of the strategy a learning session was elaborated in which the empirical modeling and systemic methods were applied. In the foundation we worked with the analytical - synthetic, inductive - deductive and comparative theoretical methods. The execution took into account the techniques of the exhibition, the team work, the collaborative work. In the evaluation, the techniques of hetero-evaluation, co-evaluation and self-evaluation were applied. After the conclusion of the session, it was concluded that the students achieved the learning of parallel and perpendicular lines in geometric figures.

We present the results of a paleoseismic survey of the Incapuquio Fault System, a prominent transpressional fault system cutting the forearc of South Perú. High-resolution Digital Elevation Models, optical satellite imagery, radiocarbon dating, and paleoseismic trenching indicate that at least 2–3 m of net slip occurred on the Incapuquio Fault generating a complex, ∼100-km long set of segmented fault scarps in the early 15th century (∼1400–1440 CE). We interpret the consistent along-strike pattern of fault scarp heights, geometries and kinematics to reflect a surface rupture generated by a single Mw 7.4–7.7 earthquake, suggesting that brittle failure of the forearc poses a significant, yet mostly overlooked, seismic hazard to the communities in coastal areas of Perú. Precise crown segmentation is essential for assessing structure, competition, and productivity in agroforestry systems, but delineation is challenging due to canopy heterogeneity and variability in aerial imagery. This study analyzes how flight height and orientation affect segmentation accuracy in an agroforestry system of the Peruvian Amazon, using RGB images acquired with a DJI Mavic Mini 3 Pro UAV and the instance-segmentation models YOLOv8 and YOLOv11. Four flight heights (40, 50, 60, and 70 m) and two orientations (parallel and transversal) were analyzed in an agroforestry system composed of Cedrelinga cateniformis (Ducke) Ducke, Calycophyllum spruceanum (Benth.) Hook.f. ex K.Schum., and Virola pavonis (A.DC.) A.C. Sm.
