In this study we analyze the effects of the program of incursion in Social Networks in Digital Competences as part of an experimental investigation with 40 adults (rank: 81 - 92 years of age) from vulnerable contexts of a Latin state. 50 educational activities based on the use of Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter and Gmail were applied as essential elements of virtual communication. These allowed obtaining statistical significance in digital competencies of the experimental group, especially in more than 60% of participating subjects, both in the ability to manage technological resources as well as in the interrelation through the internet (social networks). The study recognizes its contribution in the opportunity to generate digital inclusion in the elderly in states of digital abandonment.

This research analyzes the relationship between the use of precision technologies and the management of agricultural inputs within the framework of sustainability. Structured surveys were conducted with 120 producers, addressing variables such as access to technology, training, technological integration, productivity, and barriers. Multiple linear regression, Spearman correlation, and cluster analysis were applied to identify the factors influencing efficient, environmentally responsible, and socioeconomically viable input management. The findings show that the Productivity and Sustainability dimension has a significant positive effect, while barriers and challenges have a negative influence. The model related to soil health (adjusted R² = 0.304) highlights the potential of precision technologies to enhance yield and reduce environmental impacts. However, structural limitations, such as...

Distributed leadership is a transactional approach of institutional management that has evolved to the conception of an interactive management between the director and the teaching staff, without reporting current evidences of its functionality in vulnerable contexts. Because of this, the research proposed to establish differences in the context of vulnerability, gender, academic degree, postgraduate training, and years of work. It was developed through a comparative -descriptive transectional design, in asample of 154 teachers from public educational institutions, grouped according to the context (vulnerable = 86, not vulnerable = 68) from the city of Callao (Peru), for which purpose the Multifactorial Leadership Distributed Questionnaire was used. The analysis made it possible toconclude that teachers fromvulnerable contexts, with less time working in educational institutions, and with...

The main objective of this article is to analyze the project “Freedom of the Word” as a generator of literacy practices in contexts of confinement, vulnerability and social exclusion. To meet this objective, two specific objectives are proposed: the first, to examine the dynamics of the project in its implementation within these contexts; and the second, to evaluate the logical framework methodology used in the project and its impact on the generation of literacy practices. The approach adopted is qualitative, based on two methods: theoretical-conceptual analysis and documentary treatment of information. It is concluded that both the dynamics and the methodology of the logical framework of the project “Freedom of the Word” contribute to the “repressive-ideological” function of the prison regime, by simplifying and reducing the complexity of the social realities of the partici...

This study aims to describe clinical aspects that favored the efficacy of the 'Video-feedback intervention to promote positive parenting and sensitive discipline' (VIPP-SD) in a low SES dyad from Lima-Perú. The dyad consisted of a 37-year-old mother and her 17-month-old child living in a high-risk context. The intervention’s results on maternal sensitivity were measured using the Maternal Behaviour Q-Set 3.1. The mother went from a sensitivity score of -.53 before the intervention to .78 after it. This change’s statistical significance and clinical relevance was confirmed using the RCI indicator and the analysis of therapeutic change indicators proposed by Krause et al. (2006). The strategies used to strengthen the therapeutic alliance and maintain maternal commitment to the intervention are discussed.

Dental caries is one of the most prevalent chronic illnesses in early childhood, with repercussions on minors' quality of life. This vital stage constitutes an opportunity for children to acquire oral hygiene habits and control over them, especially in social vulnerability contexts. Objective: To analyze parents' beliefs about their ability to support their children in developing dental hygiene habits and children's beliefs about the acquisition of these habits before and after completing a dental hygiene development program. We established a quasi-experimental design with pre-test and post-test for two groups: parents and their preschool-age children participating in an educational program focused on developing dental hygiene habits in Mexico. We compared the habits, self-efficacy, intention and control on oral hygiene, through a paired t-test analysis. Results: The findings showed that...

This article seeks to explore the response of international human rights law and international human rights bodies in the definition of guidelines for States to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic. The main argument is that the high levels of adaptability of the norms for the protection of human beings and the standards developed in this matter are reflected in the way their protective effects have been at display; mainly, in i) the limits for restrictions or suspensions of human rights for epidemic control and ii) the specific provisions for the protection of vulnerable groups. Original abstract: The Rio Santa valley in the Cordillera Blanca, Peru, has been repeatedly affected by severe glacial flood disasters in the past decades. The continuing high rate of glacier retreat has led to the formation and rapid growth of a large number of glacial lakes. Due to the risk of lake outburst floods, downstream communities are confronted with serious hazards. The regional capital of Huaraz is one of the major sites exposed to these hazards. Mainly due to a lack of resources, no systematic evaluation of the existing hazards and related risks has been performed so far, nor have adequate warning systems been installed. Strict financial limitations make a prioritization of mitigation measures a necessity. Vulnerability assessments are an effective tool to this end. In this article, we present a method to measure the vulnerability of Huaraz to hazards from glacial lake outbur...

The intensifying impacts of climate change pose a serious global threat, particularly for rural populations whose livelihoods are closely tied to natural resources. Yet there is a lack of critical understanding of how asymmetric power dynamics shape the vulnerabilities of such populations under climate change. This article examines the interrelations between smallholders’ climate-related vulnerability experiences and power relations across multiple scales of climate adaptation in the Peruvian Andes, a region susceptible to increasing climatic threats. The analysis draws on a case study conducted in the Mantaro River Valley in Central Peru using qualitative methods: open-ended interviews, participant observation, and document analysis. Findings of the study show that in the context of climate change, the production of vulnerabilities has much to do with larger socio-political structures...

In sexual crimes, the special characteristics of some people make them potentially vulnerable victims. Faced with the responsibility and legislative obligation to act immediately in defense of their rights and guarantee their protection, the professionals of the police and judicial context who intervene in obtaining the testimony have the challenge to adapt the procedures for obtaining and evaluating their testimonies. Previous investigations confirm misinformation and consequent police and judicial malpractice in cases of sexual abuse of especially vulnerable victims: high delay in complaints, repeated interrogations and use of inappropriate questions. This article analyzes all these influencing factors and gives some recommendations to improve the procedures for obtaining their testimonies. Finally, it warns about the possible suggestion that could derive from the misuse of procedures ...

The worldwide spread of the COVID-19 pandemic has triggered an international sanitary crisis that many countries could not tackle. In our country the relationship among the health care professionals their patients and relatives has been affected, in part due to a disorganized governmental response to the pandemic that dictated incorrect treatment recommendations based on foreign experiences resulting in severe attempts against the individual dignity. On the other hand, the lack of resources, the rampant corruption and the poor resolution capacity for diagnosing cases leaded not only of knowing the magnitude of the pandemic in the country but also to discouragement among health care professionals who are at the frontline experiencing fear and vulnerability. We do believe that we need to rethink on the impact of the pandemic in the country as well as on the critical reforms needed in our h...
