The judicial process followed against César Vallejo is one of the most iconic cases of our legal system, as it not only resulted in the imprisonment of our universal poet but also took place when the foundations of our penal system were being reformed. In other words, the trial was an opportunity to demonstrate that our penal system evolved from an inquisitorial to an accusatorial system. Unfortunately, the opposite proved to be true: despite the change of code, the inquisitorial assumptions were unfairly applied against our universal poet with the purpose of ensuring his imprisonment during the instructive stage of the process, that is, before the relevant oral trial to determine his innocence. In this sense, this article seeks to demonstrate how the purpose of this first stage was undermined.

This research covers the technical and soft skills required in software development, a globally in-demand activity. These skills are required to efficiently perform in a very globalized, competitive field. Previous studies show the existence of a gap between industry and academia. Training centers provide professionals with technical skills, but as of late, the need for soft skills has become apparent, making it important to study and find ways to embed them into the professionals who join the industry. The application of Personal Software Process (PSP) methodology helps students to strengthen their skills in the software development process, however, the method is not widespread in academia nor industry. This article shows the importance of soft skills, according to Latin American companies, and how PSP can reduce the skills gap.

Los últimos años han mostrado un avance en la lucha contra la violencia contra las mujeres en el Perú. Esto ha significado la introducción de nuevas políticas y estrategias, que a pesar de sus prometedores componentes, no han demostrado ser exitosas para disminuir significativamente la alta y alarmante prevalencia de la violencia contra mujer en el Perú. Por esta razón, el presente estudio tuvo como objetivo analizar el proceso de implementación para evaluar su efectividad, basado en el cumplimiento de la normativa, y la identificación de posibles causas de las brechas de implementación. In court, genetic evidence owns the privilege of irrefutability. Judges often use this means of proof uncritically, in other words, without any rational instrument. The present study aims to integrate resilience concepts within the context of a theoretical model for child maltreatment, the ecological model, as well as to describe risks and protective factors leading to a better interaction as a dynamic process. Thinking deeply about maltreatment from the point of view of resilience implies focusing on the serious consequences it produces, as well as on the assessment of children’s resources to continue growing and developing despite the risks. We may promote children’s potential by understanding resilience within a child maltreatment framework based on this model (interactional, bidirectional and reciprocal).

The application of edible coatings obtainable from alternative biodegradable materials has gained attention as a promising treatment to prolong the shelf-life of fresh-cut vegetables. Thus, this work aimed to develop a biodegradable coating based on fruit and vegetable residues flour. Immersion coating strategy was studied on the quality of minimally fresh-cut carrots during refrigeration storage by means of weight loss, color variation, pH, titratable acidity and soluble solids content. Better performance was obtained for coated carrots, which exhibited a tendency to have lower whiteness index than uncoated counterparts and enhanced overall quality. Despite a drop in color saturation expressed by chroma values (varying from 59 to 46) was observed, color index presented a positive value for all samples (varying from 13 to 15) indicating orange color preservation throughout storage. El Instituto para la Calidad PUCP cuenta con un sistema de gestión de la calidad y certificación ISO 9001:2015, lo que demuestra su compromiso con la excelencia educativa y mejora continua. The wide adoption of Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) in additive manufacturing has led to the need for a comprehensive understanding of the corrosion behavior of LPBF-fabricated components [1]. This thesis focuses on the pitting corrosion behavior of 316L stainless steel, emphasizing the influence of process-induced porosity. The impact of various defects on pitting corrosion behavior was explored through a series of experimental investigations using cyclic potentiodynamic polarization in a 0.6M NaCl solution. The study revealed that LPBF 316L SS exhibited superior pitting resistance compared to its wrought counterpart [2]–[7], even in the presence of manufacturing defects. En otras palabras, se trata de estudiar los pasos que deben dar las pymes para su mejora, partiendo de su realidad y de sus propias necesidades, en especial de las referidas a recursos humanos, sus capacidades y calificaciones, así como a la restringida capacidad de inversión que poseen y a la necesidad de contar con un modelo de mejoramiento que sea efectivo, a pesar de sus limitaciones.

The study analyzes the various modernization projects at the Faculty of Medicine San Fernando, in the context of a serious institutional crisis at the end of the XXth century. Beginning from the thinking collective and thinking style categories proposed by Ludwick Fleck, we study the social and historical processes related to the different initiatives displayed in the ancient Peruvian school of medicine. En este proyecto, se llevó a cabo un estudio con el objetivo de desarrollar un sistema de reconocimiento óptico de caracteres (OCR) diseñado para identificar y almacenar la información de las boletas de pago de docentes en la UGEL Ferreñafe. Esto se debió a la necesidad de agilizar la búsqueda de boletas en formato físico, un proceso que, en ocasiones, podía llevar semanas y requerir la contratación de personal adicional. El presente estudio tuvo como finalidad determinar de qué manera el enfoque AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) se relaciona la selección de proveedores priorizando criterios sostenibles en el área de compra de una institución pública peruana. Para ello, uso una investigación cuantitativa, de tipo deductivo y usando la técnica de AHP aplicada a una muestra de 70 empleados entre gerentes o administradores, asistentes y colaboradores del área de logística de una institución pública peruana. Se evidenció la no existencia de diferencias significativas (p>0.05) en las ponderaciones promedio de los criterios principales de sostenibilidad del modelo AHP al rechazarse la hipótesis que plantea la igualdad de las medias con un 95% de certeza estadística.
