This paper explains why the creole doctor Jose Pezet y Monel was imprisoned at the Real Felipe Fortress in Callao. Pezet was a modern and liberal intellectual who early identified himself with the insurgent cause. His support for the president José de la Riva Agüero and a series of unfortunate events precipitated his death. We review his will signed in Callao on August 5, 1825.

Based on a reflection on the reduced place of national history in the official educational proposal, the contents that appear in school textbooks on the processes that led to the Peruvian emancipation are analyzed, as well as the difficulties related to the development of virtual classes as a consequence of the health emergency. This paper reflects on the official royalist political discourse in the fortress of Real Felipe del Callao, between 1824 and 1826, focusing particularly on the concept of "order" and its expression in the official royalist press organs, public announcements and proclamations of the governor José Ramón Rodil y Campillo. This concept was related to a mental framework of the Old Regime, in which terms such as "nation", "Spanish nation" and others aimed to generate a representation that sought to evoke feelings of identity and identification that revolved around a set of networks of meaning and mental structures that became the ideological justification needed by the besieged to continue facing the many sufferings and deprivations that overwhelmed them day by day and that kept them in their fortresses to the limit of their resistance.

Esta tesis se divide en tres capítulos. En el primero se hace una suerte de estado de la cuestión, revisando trabajos anteriores. Se define el concepto de logia y se discute el supuesto carácter masónico de Lautaro, reflexionando sobre su origen y objetivos, su organización y principios. Se analiza cuáles fueron los grupos sociales que la formaron y se revisa el papel que desarrolló en Argentina y Chile, discutiéndose también sobre su carácter republicano o monarquista. Finalmente, sobre la base de documentos epistolares, se aborda la capacidad de decisión que pudo tener esta logia para que se ejecutara o no la expedición al Perú. Esta tesis se enmarca dentro de la línea de investigación que estudia el fin de la presencia española en Sudamérica. Analiza concretamente el segundo sitio del Real Felipe del Callao, que tuvo lugar desde diciembre de 1824, a enero de 1826, cuando el brigadier José Ramón Rodil se declaró fuera de los alcances de la capitulación de Ayacucho y se negó a entregar la plaza.
