Introduction. Our country’s transition is the non-westernized type, because problems that have not been solved persist (nutritional deficiencies) along with emerging problems (overweight and obesity). Objective. To describe the presence of coexisting chronic malnutrition (CM) with obesity (O), nutritional anemia (NA) and vitamin A deficiency (VAD) and obesity (O) with NA and VAD in children under the age of 5. Design. Secondary analysis of the MONIN 2007-2010 survey. Setting. National study. Participants. Children under the age of 5. Interventions. A total of 3 764 children were weighed and measured. Hemoglobin dosage was obtained in 2 808 children, serum retinol in 1 524. Hb below 11 g / dL was diagnosed as NA. Correction by altitude was taken into account. The cutoff for VAD was serum retinol <20 ug/dL. The relation of CM and O with height/age ratio and weight/height, with cutting...

It was a program of self-esteem for childrens of 8 to 11 year old with specific learning disorders. They were 30 participants (15 were in the experimental group and 15 were in the control group). It was used an experimental design pre test and post test with control group. In the comparative analysis it was found that there were significative differences in the area itself (t = - 4.06, p< .01) home (t = -2.26, p < .05) school (t = -3.45, p< .01) mats (t = -3.06, p <.01) and in total self esteem (t = -6.23, p < .001), in all cases the post test was greater than pre test, this results corroborate the efectiveness of the program.

The article examines civil liability for damages caused by minors and adolescents in Peru, an issue that has intensified following the repeal of Article 1975 of the Civil Code by Legislative Decree 1384. The repealed article established the joint and several liabilities of parents or legal representatives. Currently, under Article 458 of the Civil Code, both minors and adolescents are civilly liable for the damages they cause, provided they act with discernment. However, the lack of patrimonial resources of minors and adolescents complicates the enforceability of reparations, leaving victims unprotected. The objectives of this study are to clarify who should bear civil liability for reparations and to explore the implications of the repeal. The methodology includes a historical and normative analysis of Peruvian legislation showing that the liability of parents and representatives has be...

Objective: To determine the coexistence of nutritional problems in public school children 6 to 9 years of age. Material and Methods: In 241 children of Matucana, Santa Eulalia and Lima public schools the body mass index (BMI) was calculated. Must et al. classification was used for nutritional diagnosis in order to respectively define deficient, low weight, normal weight, overweight and obesity. Chronic malnutrition was determined using the National Center for Health Statistics (NCSH) and anemia by less than 12 g/dL hemoglobin, adding 0,4 g/dL for each 1000 meters above sea level. Results: Children with chronic malnutrition, overweight, obesity and nutritional anemia represented 22,4, 14,1, 10,0 and 69,3% of the population studied. From those with chronic malnutrition 11,1, 9,3 and 66,7% showed overweight, obesity and anemia; and from the anemic children, 16,8 and 12,6% showed overweight ...

Objective: Adaptation to Peruvian population of the Pediatric Symptoms Checklist (PSC-17), a questionnaire that assists in the identification of emotional and behavioral problems in children and adolescents between 6 to 17 years. Method: On the basis of the original texts of PSC-17 in English and Spanish and the Chilean version, a committee of five experts proceeded to the adaptation of the 17 items for parents and caregivers and for adolescents. Results: Some items were kept identical to one of the two revised Spanish versions; others remained similar to the Chilean version, and some had to be slightly modified to match Peruvian Spanish. Conclusions: The final Peruvian version of the PSC-17 would facilitate the detection of mental health problems in children and adolescents in our country, even though it is still necessary to subsequently carry out pertinent studies of its psychometric ...

Research of pre experimental type. The present research aimed to identify significant differences between pre and post test moments after an application of a program of scientific experiences in a sample of 20 children of 5 years old from preschool level of the Breña distric (capital of Lima). For this purpose, an instrument was developed to measure the observation and problem solving components. For treatment were developed 20 sessions of scientific experiences with focus on discovery learning. The findings corroborated that there was a significant improvement in research ability and in its three components; with significance less than 0.05. From descriptive results, a higher benefit was demonstrated in problem solving dimension reflected in its measuring ranges.

Language is one of the fundamental aspects in the development of the child, it is the wonderful soul that opens thousands of doors to other knowledge, is the tool of relation with others and allows properly interacting. The first place where this language has to develop will be in the family, in the first interactions with the mother, in those first babbling and that gradually develops, at the same time, with its entrance to the school evolves more and more until reaching its maximum development. It is therefore the fundamental task of families, parents to try to develop it and to identify the difficulties that their babies can present to go to a specialist as soon as possible. This article seeks to explain the problem of literacy in Peru (1); it focuses on the lack of information regarding how children learn or acquire writing skills, which allows initial literacy. It proposes to universities and educational institutes to incorporate into their curricula a closest approach to child development, specifically the period of the first seven years, crucial in the reader and writer training. Also, it invokes to decline traditional practices, which determine the failure of active and reflective readers from initial education and explain in part why the university and Peruvian professionals read little or write short texts. Along this line, it outlines the difficulties of the student to use writing as a personal way of processing information and as a tool to interact with their environment. In the last section there is a list of the concepts and processes that should ...

The article deals with the application of Vygotsky's sociocultural theory of learning in solving the problem of learning difficulties in mathematics. First, the educational problem is identified and described, then, with Vygotsky's theory of the transition from the zone of real development to the zone of proximal development, it is propounded how the teacher can achieve this transition in the addition operation learning in children. It is necessary for the teacher to use instruments for the diagnosis of the zone of real development and for planning the zones of proximal development in the mathematics learning. The teacher should not pass to the next zone of proximal development if he has not achieved that the student converts into a zone of real development the previous zone of proximal development.
