Despite the apparent neutrality of digital platforms, they exert a significant influence on the mediation of information, which raises questions about their responsibility to guarantee the right to information and democratic sustainability. This article analyses the intermediary role of digital platforms, considering that their presence has transformed the model of public communication. Taking as a starting point Desantes' (1994) defence of information as a human and social good, which engenders a duty for those who issue it, this research argues that digital platforms, like media, must assume a structural responsibility with information. This article explores, through a discussion with the ideas of the main theorists, how platforms have altered public communication, challenging traditional principles of the media and underlining the need to demand operational responsibility from them, a...

Helix models are frameworks in which different actors collaborate to drive innovation and knowledge transfer, aiming to promote development. Although theories have explored the concept of multiple helices, known as N-Tuple helices, the most commonly applied models are the triple helix, quadruple helix, and quintuple helix. The triple helix focuses on the interaction between government, universities, and businesses. In the quadruple helix model, society is included as a fourth actor. Meanwhile, the quintuple helix incorporates additional factors that can vary by author, such as natural, economic, or cultural resources, among others. Similarly, in N-Tuple helices, other actors are added, which may also differ depending on the author’s perspective. For these reasons, it can be argued that the foundational helix models are the triple and quadruple helix. The purpose of this research...

This article discusses the emergence of new actors among graduate students in Mexico, specifically of indigenous graduate women, who are one of the results of an educational model that intends to question the prevailing developmental logic. It describes and analyzes the role of intercultural higher education policies as catalyst for an emerging professional profile that is having important impacts in building new family, community and regional relations. Through the discussion of these policies, their origins, limits and possibilities, this paper focuses on the specific proposal of the Universidad Veracruzana Intercultural (UVI). It also examines the life experiences of five UVI female graduates, and concentrates in one case in which her trajectory is compared to the life experiences of her own mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Through these cases, the paper seeks to identify th...

The mathematical model of water quality is a simplified representation of reality and constitutes a support tool to know a priori the changes in chemical or biological quality that occur throughout the river basin and useful for decision-making. decisions of the authorities in the management of water resources and the administration of water service providers. The objective of the article is a systematic review of the models that have been developed for the prediction of chlorine demand in water. From the review, seven models developed for the estimation of chlorine demand have been identified, which shows that it is a line of research to be explored. These models were built based on experimentation in the laboratory, in the Plant and data of previous studies, accompanied by tests of the estimate of the predictive capacity of the model, with the exception of some cases. This review is a ...

The persistent issue of student dropout negatively impacts the educational sector and society at large. This study presents a machine learning model that leverages data from the National Household Survey to predict student dropout in Peru, integrating a wide range of socio-demographic variables. The research fills a gap in existing literature by providing a model that incorporates socio-demographic variables, an area not fully explored in previous studies. The predictive model aims to identify factors associated with student dropout, aiding educational stakeholders in implementing effective interventions. The findings underscore the model's potential to enhance educational outcomes by enabling early identification of at-risk students, thereby facilitating targeted support. This work contributes to refining predictive models of university dropout rates and sug- gests the use of ensemble m...

This study was developed to evaluate if the socioeconomic factors: Per Capita Income (PCI) and electricity consumption patterns, influence on the Domestic Solid Waste Per capita (PPC) production increment of Moyobamba city, during eight running days and in the setember and december months of the year 2004. The method was based in the study of (Robles, 1998) cited by INEI (strategic urban diagrams of Lima city); the process started with the sample unit determination and the design of the opinion survey and then a socioeconomic stratification of the city was made. In this step, we did determine the Per Capita Production (PCP) in each event and the total urban PCP of Moyobamba city. The tests "t" students, "z", correlation and regression were calculated to estimate the influence between proposed variables also was calculated the Kuznets's Environmental Curve (EKC), in order to evaluate the ...

There are organizations, known as political parties, that influencing the government, businesses, industries, and virtually crossing all fields of society. Their members have strengths that allow them to play in turbulent environments with undefined problems. Otherwise, the professional technical has weaknesses to interact when the environment is complex and problems are soft unstructured. Since the working hypothesis, “the activists of political parties have a similar profile that allows them to act effectively in diverse environments”, we design a construct and a conceptual model to identify the variables that shape the success of these. This article shows the progress of empirical qualitative research, it attempts to describe the profile of political activist and their strengths, which are required to operate adequately in changing environments.
