The olive industry (OI) generates large quantities of contaminated wastewater, especially during the alkaline treatment of green olives, posing an environmental problem due to the high levels of organic matter, phenolic compounds, and salts present in these effluents. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of two treatments, adsorption with activated carbon and Fenton reagent, to reduce biochemical oxygen demand (BOD5) and chemical oxygen demand (COD) in OI wastewater. Samples were collected from three affected zones in Tacna, Peru, and both treatments were applied using different reagent concentrations. The analysis included measuring BOD5 and COD before and after the treatments, followed by statistical tests to validate the results. Climate change, as well as the appearance of pests and diseases, are affecting olive plantations (Olea europaea L.) and the production of olives in the world, therefore, there is an urgent need for tools to help us identify the spatial and temporal evolution of the olive groves, regarding the attack of pests, in this case, the Orthezia olivicola and the olive borer Phloeotribus scarabaeoides. In this work, we use information from freely available satellite images that allowed us to carry out spatial and temporal analysis and the combination of vegetation indices. This pest identification project using remote sensing with an unmanned aerial vehicle will show the scope that can be achieved in the field of agriculture and that are being used. The project has as its first stage the custom conditioning of the unmanned aerial vehicle composed of a flight structure and a camera system which will allow us to acquire data, in this case aerial images. Once the air vehicle is conditioned, the flight plans for the acquisition of images are established. This stage is delimited by the olive cultivation area that we want to evaluate. Once the conditioning has been completed and after executing the flight plans, the images are processed under two algorithm models, the results of which will eventually be interpreted in search of the identification of pests in the cultivation of the olive tree.

The objective of this study was to assess the effects of saponins derived from Chenopodium quinoa by-products on methane (CH4) production in a ruminal fermentation system under in vitro conditions. Additionally, the study included the analysis of short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) and true dry matter digestibility (TDMD). The saponin extracts obtained from three quinoa varieties were Altiplano (AS), Quillahuaman (QS), and Salcedo (SS), and were tested at six different doses (0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, and 1.0mg/mL) each. The objective of this study was to conduct agricultural zoning of climate risk for quinoa cultivation. Data from 38 meteorological stations of the National Meteorology and Hydrology Service in Puno region were used. The zoning was based on the development of the water balance model, applying the water requirement satisfaction index (ISNA), for two levels of soil available water capacity (115 mm/m and 145 mm/m). Spatial analysis of the ETr/ETm ratio, obtained from the SARRAZON model, was carried out for each phenological stage through frequency analysis of ISNA values.
