Moreover, its objective is to mitigate the technical gap that leads to monetary losses for the company in question. Este trabajo de investigación busca implementar un modelo de gestión de Lean Manufacturing, usando herramientas como VSM, SMED, Mantenimiento Autónomo, para mejorar el nivel de servicio en empresas de refinación de petróleo para reducir la brecha técnica de pérdidas monetarias a la empresa en cuestión. En cuanto a la metodología utilizada, se basa en un diseño de estudio de caso centrado en el estudio del pre-test y post-test para identificar las principales mejoras de este. Con respecto a los resultados, este estudio logró una reducción del 35% en las pérdidas de la empresa e incrementar 19 puntos porcentuales el nivel de servicio.

This article intends to demonstrate the feasibility of applying the TPM-Lean Manufacturing methodology in SME manufacturers of metal spare parts, as there is a growth in demand, visible in the sector, which cannot be exploited due to its Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) low values. The aim is to contribute to a better knowledge of the application technique to reduce waste in process industries so that, through an analysis of their production data, the problems that prevent companies from being efficient are identified and, through the selection, development and implementation of the techniques of the Lean Manufacturing Methodology, SME can be oriented to carry out improvement actions in their production systems at a low cost.

The article's objective was the implementation of the lean manufacturing methodology in the production process of an air conditioning metal processing plant. For this, the methodology of 2 phases was used. The company and its current operation, structure, products, and work plan are presented in the first phase, demonstrating its main deficiencies. In phase 2, an improvement plan was made with lean manufacturing tools applied to the deficit of phase 1. As a result of the implementation of these tools, 64%, 80%, 71% and 50% of space in the measuring, cutting, bending, and welding stations, respectively, and an improvement in production times were obtained. Lean Six Sigma (LSS) is one of the essential and applicable techniques for any organisation in the 21st century, including small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), that wish to grow their competitive advantages. The LSS approach’s insights offer an optimal vision for reducing technical gaps and assessing performance indicators. This case study aimed to improve service-level performance in a gaming peripherals SME by incorporating traditional engineering tools into the Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve, and Control (DMAIC) framework, validating its results through a two-month pilot plan, and analysing process improvement via statistical software. The study’s findings revealed that SMEs could effectively control delays in order processing through statistical control planning regardless of financial capabilities.

The main objective of Lean Manufacturing tools is to eliminate waste from a process in order to make it more efficient. In this applied research with a quantitative approach, the production process of a steel coil cutting machine (Slitter) of a Peruvian metalworking company is analyzed. It can be said that the Slitter is indispensable to supply semi-finished products to a steel tube production line. The research proposed to implement Lean Six Sigma in a restaurant company to improve the service quality of Siu Mai snacks delivered via delivery. The study was based on a pre-experimental design with a quantitative approach and evaluating customer perception before and after using the Servqual method. In the initial analysis, lack of employee induction, poor order management and lack of process evaluation were found as causes of low quality. Using DMAIC, processes were improved with BPMN and Kanban to follow the order flow, which optimized processes, reduced waiting times and improved service quality. According to the literature reviewed, there are few investigations where this tool is applied in companies in the food sector. The objective of the study is to conduct an analysis of the research carried out on the implementation of the SMED tool in the food industry. A systematic review of the literature was implemented, 3 categories and 7 study subcategories were formed to analyze 30 articles published between 2015 and 2021.
