This article is developed in a warehouse of a trading company belonging to the beer industry, which plays an essential role in the supply chain, since it favors delivery times and reduces financial losses in the warehouse, which allows offering better services and increase profits. In order to have an optimal handling of the products within the warehouse, it is necessary to have a greater efficiency in the fulfillment of orders. Therefore, in this case, the implementation of the Systematic Layout Planning and Sales and Operations Planning methodology has been chosen, accompanied by Lean and 5S tools, with the aim of optimizing the level of service and maximizing storage efficiency. The results of this model show the current situation of the company, which is 84.34% of the service level and increases by 96.65%, which is due to the implementation of the 5S, S&OP, SLP and Standardized work.

Companies in the veterinary services sector face the challenge of providing optimal customer service. This sector contributes 40% of the national Gross domestic product and concentrates 48% of formal employment. Considering that, customer satisfaction is one of the key factors to achieve reliable results in our organizations. The low level of this was identified as one of the main problems of the sector, which may be due to different inefficiencies such as low service quality, unsatisfied demand, extended service times and long waits. In this way, a model based on the Lean methodology and the application of 5S tools and standardized work was developed to increase customer satisfaction. It was validated by conducting a case study in a company in the sector located in the Peruvian province of Callao. The results showed an increase in workers efficiency to 90%, a 4.8" decrease in tools sear...

The textile and garment industry is a business area that keeps growing every day, and specifically, the production of baby clothes has shown to be a highly profitable sector. This work's purpose is to evaluate and propose a feasible solution to counter the main problem presented in small businesses that produce baby clothes through knitting, which is low productivity using the Implementation of tools such as MRP, Jidoka, TPM, and work standardization. Additionally, the main contribution of the investigation is developed through Lewin's change model. This model comprises three phases: unfreezing, change, and refreezing. The first is about recognizing every problem the company could have; the second consists of implementing new ideas or work practices; and, lastly, the refreezing focuses on keeping the changes made to have continuous Improvement through support and reinforcement. Finally, ...

In this scientific article, an integrated production model is presented to face the problems faced by a company in the clothing sector, which has low productivity, much lower than the industry standard. For this, in the said model, the use of VSM as a diagnostic tool, the application of lean manufacturing tools (5S & Kanban), and systematic layout planning as a solution to the problems presented by the analyzed pajama manufacturing company. With the application of the proposed integrated model, it is planned to increase the company's competitiveness, increasing its productivity by 23.86% to reach the industry standard. Furthermore, after analyzing and comparing the simulation results in the Arena Simulator software of the current situation and the proposed integrated production model, an increase of 30.61% in the company's productivity was observed. This result is due to increased effici...

This research addresses two relevant topics for industrial engineering: master production plans (dependent variable) and uncertainty (independent variable). The latter constitutes a critical impact factor in the manufacturing sector. For the investigation, we collected articles related to these variables to establish the state of affairs in the specialized literature. We searched for information in two indexed databases, Scopus and ProQuest, and filtered it using inclusion and exclusion criteria derived from the PRISMA method. We identified sixteen scientific journal articles of interest for the investigation at the end of the process. These studies show essential data about the variables described and additional variables that influence uncertainty and that, in some way, impact the preparation of master production schedules in the manufacturing sector.

Lean Six Sigma (LSS) is one of the essential and applicable techniques for any organisation in the 21st century, including small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), that wish to grow their competitive advantages. The LSS approach’s insights offer an optimal vision for reducing technical gaps and assessing performance indicators. This case study aimed to improve service-level performance in a gaming peripherals SME by incorporating traditional engineering tools into the Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve, and Control (DMAIC) framework, validating its results through a two-month pilot plan, and analysing process improvement via statistical software. The study’s findings revealed that SMEs could effectively control delays in order processing through statistical control planning regardless of financial capabilities.
