Descripción
Sumario:This scientific article aims to demonstrate the usefulness of the application of a novel inventory management model based on 3 tools: A control system for incoming and outgoing goods, a process monitoring system managed through a KANBAN canvas and a continuous improvement system based on a PHVA cycle to improve the logistics management of an SME in the retail sector. especially in the control of inventory accuracy and availability indicators. It was based on an initial diagnosis of the processes of the logistics area of the company under study, then appropriate inventory management policies were implemented, and the processes were re-engineered. The next step was to design a Dashboard to control the inflows and outflows of goods, which takes the information from the company's ERP and allows it to anticipate omissions in the processes. Finally, staff were trained and a process monitoring system based on KANBAN and PDCA cycle was implemented. To monitor the key indicators, an inventory crossing process was designed, which compares the logical inventory level with the physical inventory once a week uninterruptedly, allowing inventory differences and the level of merchandise availability to be controlled. In conclusion, the implemented model has proven to be efficient in increasing the level of accuracy and availability of inventory, thus contributing to achieving significant savings for the company.
