Data on natural disasters of this part of the Andean margin, is only known since the earliest records of the chronicles written by the Spaniards in the conquest stage, this data has served to cataloging the major earthquakes and ENSO relatioships. The study of paleoseismicity require the application of classical geology concepts to the last deformation phase, the morphotectonic features or deformation generated by strong earthquakes or gradual tectonic deformation occurred in this particular case during the Pliocene-Quaternary. For the Lima area there is the identification and characterization of sedimentary structures generated by the seismic effect known as seismites, which correspond to unconsolidated fluvio torrential deposits, lacustrine deposits, amongst others; these deposits have a relative abundance of sedimentary structures linked to seismic events, the most common&nb...

The sedimentary Basins of the Jurassic half-superior of the Andes Power stations (Peru), with a rate of high sedimentation, they happened during a period of distension. The Arequipa Basin that was developed during the Jurassic one inferior to half, it presents characteristic morphological, sedimentológicas and tectonic that is typical of a «basin in distension.» One of these characteristics is the turbidityc filler those that present flows of graveness of exceptional thickness Megaturbidites, those that correspond to products of catastrophic events during the resedimentación.

The system Cretaceous in the Andes of the central Peru lies unconformity on lands of different ages, from the Precambrian until the upper Jurassic on which is presented in three big sequences: an lower sequence (Valanginian- Aptian) that belongs to the siliciclastics platform of the Goyllarisquizga Group and its equivalent ones lateral according to the places, in which a clear eastern provenience is denoted, likewise for the units stratigrphics that conform this great delta a deposit it is noticed in lateral onlap on the borders of the basin; a second sequence of the Albian-Turonian to the Campanian that belongs to a great platform carbonated (Jumasha; Chonta formations and equivalents) and the third sequence to the end of the upper Cretaceous (Campanian-Maestrichtian) composed by the continental red beds that belong to processes of tectonic inversion and transition to foreland basins.

The East Pisco basin belongs to the group of basins of the Peruvian forearc. This basin has been studied based on the description and interpretation of excellent outcrops along the coast. the East Pisco basin in its offshore area is characterized by a complex tectonic history which has been interpreted in this study with subsurface information (2D-3D seismic) and integrated with the geological information of the coastal sector. This paper shows the interpretation of seismic horizons corresponding to stratigraphic units, the main fault, and folding systems. The main structural styles of the basin are determined, and a model of tectonic evolution is proposed.
