This research‘s main objective quantification of iron content in sphalerites; differentiation of three types of sphalerites is obtained according to the iron content, which will be useful for the proposed solutions in the metallurgical problems. The sample which is the subject of this research work is the process of amalgamation tailings, from the district of Lomas, department of the Piura. Provided by the miners in the area. The mineralogical characterization of the samples showed the presence of the following minerals: gold, electrum, pyrite, arsenopyrite, hematite, goethite and ganges. Tests were conducted metallurgical concentrator Falcon to different forces of gravity: 40, 50, 60, 70 and 80 G’s, with a particle size of 56.55% - 200 mesh. Metallurgical balances indicate that the best evidence is gathered with 60 G’s, obtaining a concentration of 82.78 g/TC, recovery of 17.76% and 28.55 radio concentration. Prospective studies developed in the zone of the Marañón basin show us a type of regional geology called the Marañón-Huánuco Region Complex, consisting of metallic minerals of Copper, Silver, Gold in schists and gneiss in contact with intrusives, as well as minerals of nickel, cobalt, titanium, platinum, among others. The characterization of the minerals in the area using instrumental techniques: minerographic microscope, Mössbauer spectroscopy analysis, multielemental chemical analysis, allow us to corroborate the presence of the metallic minerals of the Marañón Complex, as well as the presence of iron oxides, and to a degree of magnetization that are indicators of the metallic presence in the sampled areas. Estudios prospectivos desarrollados en la zna de la cuenca del Marañón nos muestran un tipo de geología regional denominada Complejo del Marañón-Región Huánuco, consistente en minerales metálicos de Cobre, Plata, Oro en esquistos y gneis en contacto con intrusivos, así como también minerales de níquel, cobalto, titanio, platino, entre otros. The representative sample of low grade sulphide ore gold for this research study comes from the province of Casma Ancash department. The characterization of the sample was analyzed in the polarized light microscope, in the EAP. Geological Engineering at the National University of San Marcos (UNMSM), the results indicated the presence of the following mineralogical species such as Electrum, sphalerite, ilmenite, pyrite, hematite, goethite and bargains. La muestra representativa del mineral sulfurado de baja ley de oro, para el presente estudio de investigación, proviene de la provincia de Casma, departamento de Áncash. La caracterización de la muestra se realizó en el microscopio óptico polarizado, de la EAP Ingeniería Geológica de la Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (UNMSM). Los resultados de esta caracterización indicaron la presencia de las siguientes especies mineralógicas: electrum, esfalerita, ilmenita, pirita, hematita, goethita y gangas. El metamorfismo en el área Quebrada Totorita-Lunahuaná es principalmente de tipo “Metamorfismo de Contacto”, mostrado en el trabajo de campo, caracterización de unidades geológicas, y afianzado con la petrografía de secciones delgadas. Relacionado a este, se reconoce una zona de fuerte alteración hidrotermal por la presencia de biotita, pero de extensión muy local, lo cual sugiere una posible ocurrencia metálica de un Pórfido de Cobre- Skarn.

The mean metamorphism at Quebrada Totorita, Lunahuaná, is “Contact Metamorphism”-type, according to the fieldwork, characterization of geological units and supported with thin sections petrography. A strong hydrothermal alteration of biotite was recognized associated to the metamorphism, although with very localized extension, which suggest a probable metallic occurrence of Porphyry Copper-Skarn.Key words:

The sample that is the object of this research work is a kind of bituminous coal, from the Mount Huáscar, province of Oyón, department of Lima. Provided by the Coal Mine Company. The mineralogical characterization of the sample coal, to show the presence of the following minerals: Graphite (grf) and Pyrite (py). The percentage distribution indicates graphite and 96,91% 3,09% pyrite, the particles are mostly free, accordingly modal analysis indicates that the degree of liberation of graphite and pyrite is 100%, that is counted all particles are free, as can be seen in the photos N.º 1, 2 ,3 and 4.
