Nucleic acid detection with high sensitivity and selectivity capabilities could aid in the diagnosis of varies diseases such as: infections, cancer, among others. Discrimination of a mismatch or single nucleotide substitution (SNS) is challenge due to a minimum pair to pair formation double strand needed to stabilize the structure. Here we present a new approach to atinge the needed stability by using additional segments strains to favored stabilization. The use of additional complementary strains facilitates the discrimination of a SNS in a cooperative way.

This paper is a descriptive-explanatory investigation of Peruvian seafood lexicons. This article has two objectives: the first is to select and record the semantic features that make up the immanent and manifested meaning of Peruvian seafood lexicons; the second is to rank the lexicons according to semantic inclusion relations based on lexical fields. To do this, we use a descriptive structuralist methodology where we select and register a corpus of 30 names of Peruvian seafood extracted from Peruvian recipe books and gastronomic dictionaries and then group and describe them in minimal pairs that allow us to select the similar and differentiating semantic features; we also hierarchise the lexical fields found to account for the semantic relations of inclusion. In this way, we are able to determine the semantic features that allow us to transfer lexemes from a common language to a special...

Mathematical models are widely used to study the spreading dynamics of infectious diseases. In particular, the “Susceptibles-Infecteds-Recovereds-Deceases”(SIRD) model provides a framework that can be adapted to describe the core spreading dynamics of several human and wildlife infectious diseases. The present work uses a SIRD model using Caputo fractional derivative. In this investigation, the existence and uniqueness of solutions for the model were established. Numerical solutions were obtained using the Adams-Bashforth method. To illustrate the model’s utility, we made forecasts for the spread of the virus SARS-Cov-2 in the region of Tacna in Perú. It is well known that these models can help to forecast the number of infected people, understand the disease dynamics and evaluate potential control strategies.

We show the implementation of an instrument to measure the sky quality for astronomical purposes (seeing) using the Differential Image Motion Monitor technique. This instrument let us an acute and systematic measurement of seeing along with its temporal evolution. We monitored seeing at Huancayo Observatory during seven consecutive nights in 2012 August. Mean seeing was 1.34” ± 0.33”. In 14% of the observed time, seeing was below than 1”, and in 71% below than 1.5”. The successful implementation of this technique and its applicability let us using this instrument in several places where a program of site testing will be scheduled in Peru. The selection of a professional astronomical facility (as an astronomical observatory) will be benefited with DIMM measurements.

Charged-current νμ interactions on carbon, iron, and lead with a final state hadronic system of one or more protons with zero mesons are used to investigate the influence of the nuclear environment on quasielasticlike interactions. The transferred four-momentum squared to the target nucleus, Q2, is reconstructed based on the kinematics of the leading proton, and differential cross sections versus Q2 and the cross-section ratios of iron, lead, and carbon to scintillator are measured for the first time in a single experiment. The measurements show a dependence on the atomic number. While the quasielasticlike scattering on carbon is compatible with predictions, the trends exhibited by scattering on iron and lead favor a prediction with intranuclear rescattering of hadrons accounted for by a conventional particle cascade treatment. These measurements help discriminate between different mod...

Numeric methods are effective tools to solve science or engineering problems , which use deterministic differential equations. We have Euler’s and Heun’s methods and Runge- Kutta’s schemes. Unfortunately, these algorithms don’t work with stochastic differential equations. The main application is referred to the utilization of stochastic calculus in the financial area. The Black-Scholes and Merton model of the price values option in the financial markets is expressed by the Brownian movement and the stochastic differential equation, proposing the financial derivatives valorization by means of the stochastic calculus.

We use a non-spatial (Chamberlinian) product differentiation model to analyze the welfare effects of horizontal mergers with quantity competition. We argue that (i) mergers can be welfare enhancing if the degree of product differentiation increases after the merger; and (ii) privately profitable mergers can also increase welfare. Consequently in this paper we demonstrate that the degree of product differentiation is a crucial factor to assess the welfare effects of a merger.

Using the ordinary differential equation of motion it is possible to determine the position in time of a mass that moves because it is disturbed by some deterministic action. For this work it was proposed to model a mass supporting a random disturbance. To do this, it was required to model Brownian motion since it efficiently represents the randomness of the phenomenon. Using the fundamentals of Functional Analysis, Probability Theory and Stochastic Processes, a stochastic differential equation of motion was obtained. In order to extract solutions from this equation, the Euler-Maruyama method was used, which was implemented computationally. The results obtained showed that the use of a non-deterministic version to model movement generates satisfactory results and of interest to science.

Implementation of model-based fault diagnosis systems can be a difficult task due to the complex dynamics of most systems, an appealing alternative to avoiding modeling is to use machine learning-based techniques for which the implementation is more affordable nowadays. However, the latter approach often requires extensive data processing. In this paper, a hybrid approach using recent developments in neural ordinary differential equations is proposed. This approach enables us to combine a natural deep learning technique with an estimated model of the system, making the training simpler and more efficient. For evaluation of this methodology, a nonlinear benchmark system is used by simulation of faults in actuators, sensors, and process. Simulation results show that the proposed methodology requires less processing for the training in comparison with conventional machine learning approache...
