This work verifies the instrumental characteristics of the CCD detector which is part of the UNI astronomical observatory. We measured the linearity of the CCD detector of the SBIG STXL6303E camera, along with the associated gain and readout noise. The linear response to the incident light of the detector is extremely linear (R2 =99.99%), its effective gain is 1.65 ± 0.01 e-/ADU and its readout noise is 12.2 e-. These values are in agreement with the manufacturer. We confirm that this detector is extremely precise to make measurements for astronomical purposes.

We present the first scientific results of the program on short term period variable stars observed at OAUNI at the peruvian Andes. These results include good quality light curves of delta Scuti stars, rapidly oscillating stars along with eclipsing and cataclysmic binaries. The photometric precision reached by the available instrumental and equipment, and used in the several scientific subprograms, has satisfied the initial expectations.

In this work we present preliminary analysis of the astronomical photometry program for stellar clusters observed at OAUNI on the last years. Up to date twelve open clusters and nine globular clusters have been observed, in general, in more than one broadband filter. Multicolor photometry for selected clusters is shown along with a color-magnitude diagram for one open cluster. These measurements are the first ones of their kind collected by a peruvian astronomical facility.

This work present the exoplanet transit program developed at OAUNI on the 2016 and 2017 campaigns. Seventeen exoplanet transits were observed and in six of them more than one event was registered. In a couple of cases the same transit were gathered four times. Preliminary reductions are shown in three transits (WASP-80 b, WASP-52 b, and WASP-77 A b). The associated light curves show well-defined events and their modeling let to infer physical parameters of each system. These measurements are the first ones of their kind collected by a peruvian astronomical facility.

We present seeing measurements at OAUNI site gathered on 2016 and 2017 campaigns using V and R broadband filters. In order to quantify the seeing we used the full-width-at-half-maximum from stellar profiles on photometric sequences during the observational windows of our supernovae program. A typical median seeing of 1” .8 was found on 2016 and a worst value of 2” .0 on 2017. The last one was probably affected by anomalous conditions related to the 2017 extreme climatic event. The monthly first quartile analysis indicates that best seeing conditions can be achieved at a level of 1” .5. In general, our results indicate a reasonable sky quality for the OAUNI site.

Aims. Our goal is to test the feasibility of obtaining accurate measurements of the continuum polarization from high-resolution spectra using the spectropolarimetric mode of ESPaDOnS. Methods. We used the new pipeline OPERA to reduce recent and archived ESPaDOnS data. Several polarization standard stars and science objects were tested for the linear mode. In addition, the circular mode was tested using several objects from the archive with expected null polarization. Synthetic broad-band polarization was computed from the ESPaDOnS continuum polarization spectra and compared with published values (when available) to quantify the accuracy of the instrument. Results. The continuum linear polarization measured by ESPaDOnS is consistent with broad-band polarimetry measurements available in the literature. The accuracy in the degree of linear polarization is around 0.2−0.3% considering the f...

This work reports a photometric monitoring of the intermediate polar cataclysmic variable star FO Aqr. This is part of the ongoing OAUNI stellar variability program. Around 1200 individual measurements (or ∼ 9 hrs of observations) were gathered distributed in five nights. The observation epoch was coincident with the 2016 low state brightness of FO Aqr. Good quality light curves detect unambiguously the expected stellar variability of FO Aqr. The analysis using periodograms let to determine the main two known periods, P1 = 20.380 ± .003 min and P2 = 11.076 ± .001 min. Our full five-nights analysis shows that P1, the spin white dwarf period, is more prominent than P2, the one-half of the beat period between the spin and orbital periods. Nevertheless, individual light curves show than, at least in one case, a reverse pattern is found. It suggests a dependence of the beat period with th...

Optical photometry of Type II SN2017gmr/DLT17cq (ATel #10706, ATel #10717, TNSCR 2017-1220) on 2017-09-19.207 (UT) was gathered using the OAUNI 51cm telescope at Huancayo Observatory, Peru. CCD imaging was performed in R band with seeing ~1.5" and airmass = 1.3. A total integration time of 55x20s=1100s yielded R = (14.05 +/- 0.04) mag. NOMAD field stars were used for the zero point calibration. The OAUNI project is supported by UNI, TWAS, IGP and Cienciactiva (Convenio 102-2015 Fondecyt).
