In a pharmaceutical company were identified the causes of low level of compliance in the production plan, of the constant backlog of lots for manufacturing and the excessive hours-man during the packaging and conditioning processes in the line of non-sterile liquids. After analyzing the main causes of these deficiencies two improvements are proposed: The first is an automatic line that would be responsible for performing the operations of dosing, capping and labeling and the second is a mathematical model that offers a program of production for non-sterile liquid line. The proposed improvements will allow annual savings of S/. 385,925 with a return of investment 1,11 years.

Numeric methods are effective tools to solve science or engineering problems , which use deterministic differential equations. We have Euler’s and Heun’s methods and Runge- Kutta’s schemes. Unfortunately, these algorithms don’t work with stochastic differential equations. The main application is referred to the utilization of stochastic calculus in the financial area. The Black-Scholes and Merton model of the price values option in the financial markets is expressed by the Brownian movement and the stochastic differential equation, proposing the financial derivatives valorization by means of the stochastic calculus.

The article deals with the application of the mixed whole linear programming(MWLP) as a tool for the planning of import within the contex of a company devoted to the manufacturing and selling of steel components. A mathematical model is buil that adapts to the characteristics of the import processes of the company, and whose objetive will be to decide which imports plan with a definite regime and with the minimum of total costs will be chosen. In this second part, the results of the mathematical pattem are presented.

The present article tries on the application of a model of mixed integer lineal programming with multiple objectives for the planning of the production system of a pharmaceutical laboratory, with the purpose of improving the taking of decisions when planning the production. It understands the description of the case of study, the considered suppositions, formulation of the model and the results of the same one.

The article deals in the application of the Mixed Integer Linear Programming (MILP) as a tool for the import planning in the context of a company dealing in the manufacturing and sale of steel components. A mathematical model is built to be adapted for the characteristics of the company import processes and whose objective is to decide which import plan having definitive customs regimen has the minimum total costs. The mathematical pattern is formulated in this first part.

In this investigation it has been evaluated the current situation of the emergency area that assists adults, in a public hospital of Peru. The software Arena was used to perform discreet simulations, with the objective of obtaining improvement proposals that allow reduce the total time of the patient’s permanency in this area before he is to discharge from hospital or admitted in the hospital. A simulation model was developed where several types of patients were identified that were assisted in the surgery, medicine, and traumatología topics. In some cases clinical analysis was required. For reduce the time of a patient’s permanency in the system diverse possibilities were evaluated, being the best alternative a modification in the schedule of the doctors’ attention in the medicine topic. This solution considers that four doctors assist from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and two doctors ...

The current situation of the corporative customers’ complaints of the Customer Services Department of a telecommunication company has been evaluated in this research. Software Arena has been used to perform simulations to get solutions that will improve the management rates of the Customer Services Department. Three solutions were proposed. However after evaluating each of them, the one that considers having five full time executives at the Back Office Area, instead of eight part time executives was considered the best alternative to choose. Additionally, it is recommended to have forty three full time executives at the Front Office area. This decision considers diminishing the personnel of this area in two executives.

This research analyzes a company that belongs to the institutional life subsector of the insurance sector that wants to reduce its credit risks. To do this, the number of policies cancelled after their emission should be minimized. A credit evaluation model has been developed in order to describe and predict accurately the probability that an emission of a policy is profitable for the insurance company. A policy portfolio valued in US$ 10 million with 68,2% of policies retention was used. Using the model an increase of 4,7% in the portfolio value and an increase of 2,9% in the policy retention were gained.

The investigation consisted in the design of a mathematical model that allows the reduction of production costs in a tin foundry plant, which would lead to the reduction of pollutants. The model proposed by Kim and Lewis (1987), who was adapted to the company under study, was taken as reference. The situation that motivated this investigation was the insufficient quantitative techniques in the production programming around foundry operations, where the effect a batch has over others is not taken into account. After testing the model, the results indicated estimated savings of S/.3 314 964 per year, an estimated saving of 23% in the use of the melting furnace and a decrease in the content of pollutants.
