Given, on the one hand, the poor results obtained by Peruvian children in the national and international reading assessments. And on the other hand, the increased investment intechnology for schools in the country, this study aimed to develop and test an online tool to improve reading comprehension. In order to do this, the reading comprehension strategies and vocabulary activities from the research-based digital environment ICON were adapted to design the platform LEO. A total of 88 fifth graders from urban middle-to-low-income private schools from Lima participated in this quasi-experimental study, which involved acontrol group and a treatment group that participated in a 12-week teacher-mediated digital intervention. All participants were administered reading and vocabulary assessments pre and post intervention. Results revealed that students who participated in the intervention achi...

This study was based on the psycholinguistics and cognitive theory believes that learning to read, candidates must have achieved a level of development in phonological awareness, knowledge of written language, verbal memory and semantic and syntactic levels of language oral. In this article we raised the consideration of these variables as predictors of learning reader in first grade children entering primary schools in the region of Callao. To fulfill that purpose, we designed and validated TEST PRE-READING SKILLS (THP), consisting of four subtests, the first to evaluate phonological awareness, the second, which assesses knowledge of the name and sound of the letters, the third which assesses verbal memory, and finally, the fourth which assesses the syntactic and semantic components of oral language. Reliability was estimated by Cronbach’s alpha and Spearman-Brown coefficient. Was det...

This descriptive simple research aimed to determine the level of development achieved by the first grade primary students regarding pre-reading skills. The sample were 100 children from 3 public schools in Ventanilla, aged 6 – 7 years. The Predicting Reading Test (P.P.L.) of Bravo (1995) and adapted by Melendez and Morocho (2007) was applied to measure the phonological, semantic, and syntactic aspects of oral language. The results showed that only 13% of the students reached a high and superior level in pre-reading skills, while 53% reached a low and inferior level in the same skills. We concluded that the largest percentage of these students lack of there pre-requisites/ pre-requirements.

The low level of reading comprehension evidenced by basic education students requires proposing proposals that effectively link two socio-educational variables: didactics and reading. The main objective of the research was to determine if there is influence between the arborigram strategy and the improvement of reading comprehension in a pre-adolescent population of the age group of 11 to 13 years of the first grade of the Secondary level in the district of La Molina. A quasi-experimental study was designed that considered a pre-test and post-test regarding the application of the arborigram module. The results indicate the existence of a moderate-high causal influence between the variables of the arborigram strategy and the students' reading comprehension. The main conclusion of the study establishes that the arborigram as a didactic strategy has a significant influence on the improvemen...

One of the most critical and still unsolved problems is the low reading comprehension of texts in Peruvian high school students. This critical problem has been corroborated by international tests such as PISA (2015, 2018) and a variety of studies by researchers who have become aware of this worrying situation. In this scenario, the present research study aims to establish whether the Lectoryn module had any influence on literal reading comprehension of texts in students in the first year of Basic Regular Education. In order to achieve this objective, the study used a quantitative approach and a quasi-experimental design. As data collection instruments, tests (pre-test and post test) were used on an intact sample of 51 students (control group, n=24; and experimental group, n=27). The results showed that in the pre-test both groups were at the Initial level and, after the impl...

The concept of “infinite responsibility” is central to the ethics of Emmanuel Levinas. This expression synthesizes both his phenomenological intuitions and his theological tradition. Although it is recurrent in his work, the use of “infinite” poses challenges, both due to its metaphysical and scientific implications and its difficult comprehension in everyday language. This paper will analyze and problematize the Talmudic reading “The Damages Caused by Fire,” which paradigmatically illustrates the incommensurability of responsibility, a key element in Levinasian ethics. The justification for delving into a Talmudic reading may be susceptible to criticism for its religious character and, under a superficial reading, lack philosophical rigor; however, in Levinas’s philosophy, the biblical and religious tradition is so prevalent that it often merges with the philosophical, sin...
