The valeric acid derivatives were studied, both derived amines (07) and esters (04). The structures were optimized to their fundamental state, which were characterized by respective frequency calculations. The analysis of the global and local reactivity of all the structures was performed, finding little relevance in the information of the global indexes. The local reactivity indexes, such as the Fukui Functions, were really enriching of the knowledge of the valeric acid systems, for their potential in the reaction with the GABA receptor. Likewise, now report that the substituting effect is only carried out for the case of reactions with nucleophiles, but it is not very relevant in the reactions with electrophiles, being the electron attractors the ones that help in an improvement of the center reactivity power

Conceptualise the corporate social role, which is being unsuitably developed by some mining companies under the cliché of corporate social responsability (CRS), what may wel fall as philanthropic action. This means that actions taken imply a strong assitance constituent, in which the company asually takes on an active rol, and the beneficiary population a passive role. This form of addressing CRS denotes the absence of non-corporate political role-players, thus reducing the chance of consolidating feedback processes between the corporate social investiment and interest group involved poditively. The aim of this paper is to present a formal analysis of the local laws related to Mexican journalists’ protection, and compare it with news workers’ perceptions on this issue. The starting point is a theoretical discussion on the current risk of practicing journalism, and the need to provide local legal assistance. This is followed by an argumentative formal analysis of the local laws, complemented by a set of 55 semi-structured interviews with journalists from the same places, which were conducted between February 2017 and August 2018. The findings show three kinds of legal protection: social, civil, and physical. On the contrary, based upon their own experiences, reporters do not trust in those laws. The final argument is that the local context matters in order to understand how the protection measures operate in the most dangerous country in the world for journalism.

It has been demonstrated that economic growth is a required condition but not enough to reduce poverty and inequality, which are obstacles to the full development of every society. As a result, different perspectives have emerged to challenge the current measurement of development, based on gross domestic product (GDP). Inclusive growth is a new approach that offers a combination of increased prosperity and greater equity. This article argues that the perspective of inclusive growth can draw on strategies implemented as local economic development (LED), and that communication for development is a significant alternative to move from discourse to implementation of endogenous processes. This analysis is based on the reality of countries rich in natural resources, particularly Peru, where economic growth and reduction of monetary poverty have been considerable, while the quality of life of ...

Punitivism can be defined as the collective preference for punitive measures and increased control over criminals. Understanding punitivism from a psychological perspective involves examining how individuals make decisions based on their beliefs, experiences, and emotions. The punitivism scale developed by Roberts et al. (2011) comprises seven items in a five-point Likert format, designed to assess individuals’ support for harsher punishments for criminal behavior. However, this construct has received limited attention in psychology, and no validated scale has yet been applied in the Argentine context. This study aims to adapt and validate the Roberts et al. punitivism scale for use in Argentina. A pilot study was conducted with a sample of 401 individuals, and an exploratory factor analysis was carried out. A subsequent final study involved a different sample of 458 participants, in w...

This article presents the results of a descriptive quantitative exploratory study conducted in the countries of Colombia and Ecuador to assess the degree of media competence of 146 journalists from the cities of Medellín (Colombia) and Loja (Ecuador). A self-administered questionnaire was applied, structured with nine sociodemographic questions, four on the generalities of the level of media competence and 24 evaluative distributed in the six dimensions of this type of competition with their respective indicators. The general results of low and medium-level competition obtained by this group of professionals demand priority interventions from local, regional and international works that mobilize scientific, academic and political cooperation to improve the performance of a population that should lead the general formation of the citizenship in media competitions.
