La investigación de la memoria emocional lleva ya algunas décadas de prolíficos estudios publicados, estudiando a adultos y niños. Muchos de los estudios que evalúan la memoria emocional en niños incluyen la evocación de recuerdos relacionados con emociones estresantes o aversivas. Este estudio propone examinar las metodologías utilizadas en estudios de memoria emocional con niños, analizando cuáles aspectos han sido poco estudiados en la literatura sobre esta temática. Se concluye problematizando aspectos sobre la metodología y la ética en los estudios existentes sobre la memoria emocional en niños y evaluando posibles direcciones para las futuras investigaciones.
