In this study, we aimed to analyze the psychometric properties of the WLEIS-S Scale and generate normative data for measuring emotional intelligence in the Peruvian context. A total 782 people participated, 175 men (22.4 %) and 607 women (77.6 %), between 18 and 59 years old (M=29.39, DE=9.67), selected through a non-probabilistic convenience sampling. First, the metric quality of its 16 items was verified. Then, its internal structure was analyzed through confirmatory factor analysis, finding adequate fit indices for the bifactor model: χ2=305.795, CFI=.969, TLI=.958, RMSEA=.056 y SRMR=.029, in addition to evidence in favor of its unidimensionality: PUC, ωh and H coefficient >.80, ECV >.60 and explained variance of 71.97%. Likewise, evidence of its discriminant validity was found in relation to the scores of psychological discomfort measured with the K10 Scale (r=-.37, r2=.13). ...

Phishing is a cybercrime that significantly impacts three critical areas: brands, personal data, and users' wealth. This article examines the damage to companies' reputation and online presence, the breach of personal data of victims, and the economic harm suffered by Internet users. It analyzes how companies, by expanding their online presence, become vulnerable targets for phishers, who seek to obtain illicit benefits through deception and impersonation. The ease with which criminals can create fake websites and deceive users into revealing confidential information presents significant legal and security challenges. Preventive measures and regulations necessary to protect both businesses and consumers in the globalized digital environment are discussed.

Background: Insomnia can harm daily functioning and is strongly associated with depression and anxiety symptoms, especially in women. El Salvador has no scales with adequate psychometric properties for their measurement. In this context, the Athens Insomnia Scale (AIS) is a viable option to measure this symptomatology, given its short length of time, solid theoretical foundation, and relevance in other countries. Objective: To analyze the psychometric properties of AIS in the Salvadoran population, in its complete (AIS-8) and abbreviated (AIS-5) versions. Method: The study consisted of 1479 Salvadoran adults from the 14 departments of the country (mean age = 33.3 years, SD = 11.7) who were screened through a non-probability sampling design. Evidence of reliability, validity based on internal structure, and convergent validity were examined. Results: Both scales showed adequate internal c...

The effects of concentration and temperature on the thermo-physical properties of apple juice were studied, in which density and viscosity were measured at different temperature and concentration conditions, varying from 20°C to 80°C and from 12 to 70° Brix, respectively. Density was determined by the pycnometer method and viscosity by Hooke's falling sphere method, based on Stokes' law. The density results were correlated several times, arriving, by the least squares method, at a multiple linear regression model, of three terms; while the viscosity results proved to be more difficult to correlate, which, by the least squares method, arrived at a multiple linear regression model, of six terms. The experimental mathematical models can be used to obtain the density and viscosity data within the temperature and concentration conditions indicated in the study. Key words: density –...

The aim of this research was to review the psychometric properties of the Frost Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale(FMPS) in a non-clinical sample of 1,242 Mexican adults. The reliability and validity of the scale were assessed usingfactorial analyses, and Cronbach’s alpha (α) and McDonald’s omega (ω) indices were analyzed. The overall reliabilityof the scale was excellent (α = .928, ω = .928), with specific dimensions ranging from acceptable to excellent (concernover mistakes: α = .899, ω = .903; organization: α = .892, ω = .896). Exploratory factor analysis confirmed theadequacy of the data (KMO = .940, p < .001), with the final model fitting with five factors explaining 59.390% of thevariance. Confirmatory factor analysis yielded an RMSEA of .074, CMIN/DF of 7.882, GFI of .849, and CFI of .871,indicating acceptable but not excellent fit. These results suggest that the ...

The present research work aimed to determine the psychometric properties of the Emotional Dependence Questionnaire (CDE) adapted in Peru by Guerra and Mego (2011), based on the one originally prepared by Lemos and Londoño (2006). The population consisted of 700 first-cycle students from 3 Chiclayo universities, whose ages ranged from 16 to 25 years old. The data analysis was carried out through the SPSS program, at first the content validity was obtained through the criterion of expert judgment, obtaining values from 0.60 to 1 in the three evaluated indicators (Clarity, coherence and relevance). For reliability, the internal consistency method was used through Cronbach's alpha statistic, having a general value of 0.94, indicating that the questionnaire is valid and reliable. Finally, the scales were updated through percentiles, for the qualification of the instrument in the population s...

This study examines the psychometric properties of the Matson Evaluation of Social Skills with Youngsters (Matson, Rotatori & Helsel, 1983), which assesses specific social skills involved in adaptive and non-adaptive behaviors. The factor structure and internal consistency were studied in a sample of children from Cordoba (n = 578) of 7 to 13 years old (M = 9.48, SD = 1.47) of both sexes (52.77% males). An exploratory study of data and variables was conducted; then the factor structure was studied. Results suggest that the structure of five factors was the simplest and theoretically most consistent: Aggressiveness/Antisocial Behavior, Appropriate Social Skills, Friendship, Overconfidence/Jealousy/Pride and Loneliness/ Social Anxiety. The internal consistent coefficients were good or acceptable in most dimensions. Gender differences observed in the dimensions and total score provide e...

The purpose of this instrumental study was to show how to conduct an RStudio process to obtain a content validity visual representation through the alluvial function of the ggplot2 package to Condom Use Self-Efficacy Scale (This paper explains the stages to analyze content validity using a visual representation of an interrater agreement and item – factor belonging and focused mainly on qualitative aspects to evaluate the judge’s behavior and items’ weight. Furthermore, the paper discusses classical criteria to obtain content validity and its representation. The visual representation used shows high relevance to present the qualitative data associated with the content validity analysis since it allows to visualize in a differential way the weight of the dimensions in each item, the content validity coefficient in the set of dimensions, and the behavior of the judges in the overall ...

The study aimed to explore the psychometric properties of research competency scales published in the scientific literature in seven databases: Scopus, Web Of Science, ERIC, Embase, EBSCO, PubMed and SciELO between 2014 and June 2023. Thirteen papers were systematized, where 11 scales were found that measured content validity using indexes such as the S-CVI, Aiken's V and item-test correlations. Similarly, the results of the exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) presented adequate fit indices such as CFI, GFI, TLI, SRMR and RMSEA, which validated the factor structure. Reliability was mostly evaluated through Cronbach's Alpha coefficient, yielding high and consistent values. In addition, coefficients such as McDonald's Omega, ordinal Omega, Guttman and Spearman Brown have been used, all reflecting a value above .70 and internal consistency in the measure...
