Fish larvae counting is a technique applied in aquaculture to determine the efficiency of the induction stage and to know the number of fertilized larvae. For this reason, the research aims to improve the count of larvae under 3 fundamental pillars: precision, error and time. For this, we carried out an experimental investigation under a completely randomized design with two counting systems: traditional and artificial vision; each one with 10 repetitions, with 2000 larvae; Later, we carried out the count by means of artificial vision using a camera that captured images of a fish tank with moving fish. Objective: The objective of this study was to demonstrate whether a gel formulation developed with collagen extracted from fish scales is stable, functional, and safe for cosmetic applications. Material and Methods: A gel formulation derived from fish scales was developed, and physicochemical parameters (pH, viscosity, protein, lipid, carbohydrate, ash, and moisture content) were analyzed following AOAC (Association of Official Analytical Chemists) methods. Additionally, microbiological aspects (mesophilic bacteria, coliforms, molds, yeasts, and Salmonella spp.) were evaluated, and a sensory test was conducted with consumers. This study presents an extensive review of published and unpublished occurrence records of fish species in the Loreto department. Located in the northeast of the country, Loreto is the most geographically extensive region in the Peruvian territory. Despite the increase in fish collections in Loreto in recent years, the ichthyofauna of this department needs to be more documented. Based on a database of scientific collections and bibliographic information, an updated checklist of the freshwater fishes from Loreto is presented. The results reveal a rich and diversified ichthyofauna, with 873 species distributed in 331 genera, 50 families and 15 orders. Edible films were elaborated from gelatin solutions (4% w/v) of mahi-mahi skin (Coryphaena hippurus) with 2,5; 5; 7,5 and 10% v/v of oregano extract (OE) and its physicochemical, antimicrobial, structural and surface properties were determined. The control and with 2.5% OE films showed the lowest moisture and opacity values and the highest viscosity values. All films with OE inhibited the growth of Staphylococcus aureus and Proteus vulgaris. Alone films with 10% OE showed antimicrobial activity against all the strains evaluated. Scanning electron microscopy showed that the incorporation of oregano extract in the film-forming solutions, FFS, was related to an increase in the presence of oil droplets in the films, showing the lipid fraction of OE. Based on 504 individuals analyzed, 117 species were identified, corresponding to 33 families and 8 orders. The most diverse order was Characiformes (65 species, 55.6%), followed by Siluriformes (31 species, 26.5%). At the Characidae family level, it presents the highest species richness with 24 species (20.5%). The most abundant species were Stethaprion erythrops (13.1%, 66 individuals), Knodus smithi (13.1%, 66 individuals) and Bujurquina peregrinabunda (6.2%, 31 individuals). Species for ornamental and consumer use were recorded. No threatened species were recorded and most were classified as Least Concern (LC), according to IUCN criteria. La producción de peces ornamentales a partir de la acuicultura se ha convertido en un reto cuyo fin es lograr una mayor expansión en los mercados internacionales. Uno de los desafíos de esta actividad, es proporcionarles dietas que cumplan los requerimientos nutricionales para obtener animales coloridos y saludables y disminuir los costes de alimentación. En este sentido, el propósito de este estudio fue evaluar el rendimiento de larvas Betta splendens y Pterophyllum scalare alimentadas con cuatro dietas experimentales: 1) Copépodos Cyclopoida vs. Artemia monica; y 2) Alimento comercial vs. alimento a base de pupas del escarabajo Ulomoides dermestoides. An important group of the Ecuadorian population is linked to the artisanal fisheries where most of the fresh fish consumed in the country originates. In the canton Manta, there are approximately 5,000 registered boats known as fibers, which are essential for fishing; however, in the last four years artisanal fishermen have endured massive economic losses by theft of fishing gear and engines at sea, a situation that sometimes it’s even mortal for the crew. The research is based on the situational analysis of artisanal fisheries and the existing problems in the management of its activities, proposing the implementation of a management model to decrease piracy on the high seas and solve other problems related to it. The main Objective of this work is to propose a model to improve the management of artisanal fisheries in Canton Manta.

La microinyección es una técnica esencial en biotecnología para la manipulación genética en embriones del pez Cebra. La impresión 3D ha posibilitado el diseño de micromanipuladores personalizados, ofreciendo precisión y eficiencia en el proceso de inyección. Esta investigación tuvo como objetivo diseñar y construir un prototipo de micromanipulador ensamblable mediante impresión 3D. Uno de los principales desafíos es el alto costo de importación de estos equipos, que limita su acceso para la investigación.
