Over the last years, using phenomena models in interpreting and designing of software in metallurgical processes has been increasing. In this present research, a series of experimental test with polymetallic minerals is shown, which have been submitted to Flotation, Filtration, Leaching and Sedimentation processes. Mathematic modelling of such processes is shown, as well as the processing and simulation of the experimental data through the respective models. It is intended to contrast them with data from metallurgical plants for their respective validations. All these results will be used for a better planning and control of industrial variables in a concentrating plant.

This paper presents an investigation of the extraction of essential oils by steam distillation. The process is analyzed and a model is developed for the extraction of essential oil of eucalyptus in pilot scale with a steam flow of 5.73 g / min. According to the model Dunckhorst-Houghton, which considers the effect of axial dispersion, and the use of optimization procedures to establish the model parameters, excellent agreement was obtained between the amount of oil extracted theoretical and experimental.

The objective of this work has been to analyze and simulate the interactions of atmospheric and hydrological processes using the WRF Model (Weather Research and Forecasting) in Peru for the year 2014. SENAMHI records precipitation data through a meteorological network found distributed in almost all the Peruvian territory. Due to precipitation has a high spatial variability and to the scarcity of rain gauges, the use of TRMM images was used to estimate precipitation and the WRF atmospheric model to analyze the interactions of atmospheric and hydrological processes during different periods and considering the cumulus parameterizations (Kain-Fritsch scheme, KF) and microphysics (Thompson scheme). Thirty- six images of accumulated monthly precipitation over Peru were processed using the simulation of the atmospheric model WRF (two cases) and the TRMM. Twelve meteorological stations distribu...

In this article, a simulation model was developed to propose and evaluate improvements that increase the productivity of the production process of a manufacturing company and at the same time help achieve the company's objectives, for which the Promodel simulation software was used. The study begins with the conceptualization of the model explaining the operation of the production process of the company, detailing the transactions used in the operations and then presenting the layout of the model with the different locations, entities and resources provided by the production process. And finally the results of the model are transcribed with the new values of the variables that intervene in the process and with these values compare it with the current ones and obtain the conclusions of productivity improvement.

Mathematical modelling applied to batch milling (at experimental level), is a very important tool to simulate and predict the granulometric yield of a given treated ore; this means, for a given duration of milling operation, to obtain an estimate of the corresponding granulometric analysis, which can then be tested with real data later on, to verify the estimates. The model involves the selection and fracture functions depending on each mesh size in the ore distribution. This will allow the prediction of effective and reliable results, saving costs and more importantly, time, without the need to perform the milling process for each prediction of batch milling.

This paper considers the proposal, development and numerical simulation of a system that models the behavior of the treatment of HIV-1 using antiretrovirals. The system defined for three dependent variables of the variable t, denoted by X(t)=(x1 (t), x2 (t), x3 (t)) represent the amount of T Lymphocytes "Helpers" (CD4), number of Cytotoxic T Lymphocytes (CD8) Viral load and infection process of HIV-1 at any time t, respectively. The assembly consists of a Nonlinear Ordinary Differential Equations system whose existential domain represents time system evaluation process of infection and viral clearance in a patient with HIV-1. This set of states of Nonlinear Dynamic System, associated with the initial value condition is called Cauchy problem. There are few studies related to the solution of this system, found some of the study are reduced to two variables and others without obtaining the ...

The implementation of any software development process involves the consumption of critical resources. Software engineers cannot experiment with different development processes before starting them in real projects, due to the time that would entail and the amount of elements that are involved, so it is vital to have tools that allow the pre-visualization of the results of executing the software development process and how the environmental variables affect it, thus being able to anticipate under what conditions the software development process will be deployed. This paper presents the modelling and simulation of a software development process using System Dynamics (SD), which allows the graphical representation of the elements intervening in the software process, and the incorporation of as many relevant elements as possible. As a software costs estimation reference, the COCOMO estimati...

Currently, many industrial companies generate many losses in their after sales this is generated to an error in the control of inventories and in turn in a mishandling of their assets through their processes, therefore the present research proposes a management model of processes and control of inventories in order to reduce customer losses due to the large number of existing complaints and thus increase sales. Therefore, the process management model, which will contribute to the standardization, optimization and control of its critical processes, and for which indicators, procedures and policies will be proposed for each stage of the process in order to measure its efficiency and effectiveness for correct decision making. With respect to the control of inventories, it is proposed to make a segmentation of the products, which allows the identification of the most important products for t...

Apparition of abnormal vasculature is common at the first phases of tumor growth. It is known as angiogenesis having the whole process various phases. This is also seen as a random migration of cells that require the flux of blood in order to accomplish the consolidation of tumor. This paper provides a hybrid approach by the which it is assumd that sprouting angiogenesis has a well-defined part that would have to be described by classical electrodynamics. A closed-form model that allows to perform computational simulations is presented. In this manner, while the electrically charged compounds such as ions (cations and anions) are described by Coulomb forces, nano particles can be well described by the diffusion equation. According to the model nanoparticles would interact to ions by generating an electric work to cancel cell-ion interactions at the tubular formation of angiogenesis. With...

It is important for small growing textile companies to make key decisions based on accurate and reliable information about the present production process and how future changes could affect them. Using traditional mathematical methods it is not possible to accurately and reliably reflect the real stochastic behaviour of processes and activities carried out in this industry. There are, however, information technologies such as the computer simulation technique that allow such information to be obtained taking this behaviour into account.he research carried out a simulation study of the garment making process of a small textile company in order to propose a better distribution of resources by experimenting with a simulation model of the process, In addition, some of the quantitative information obtained with this technique is presented. The results obtained show that making changes in assi...

We present the simulation of the application of the Model-based Predictive Control (MPC) of the drum level in a Combined Cycle Plant in order to minimize the time for reaching the highest capacity of plant, around 225 MW. In contrast to others control techniques, our simulation yields that the MPC has shown capabilities as to reach its expected power in about 40 minutes before than PID, time which normally takes the whole industrial process under this control. In the present study, we have tested up to three different reference functions in order to compare performance during the drum level control. According to the simulations, the MPC working together with these reference functions is seen to be promising in the sense of providing efficiency to the plant from the startup until the time when system is reaching 225 MW. We have also calculated a minor discrepancy of order of lees than 5%.

The present study addresses aspects that must be considered in the sizing of the equipment for material loading and haulage (ore and waste) in an open-pit mine in the Central-West Region of Brazil. This is a complex process because a significant number of variables that limit the activities intrinsic to the loading and hauling operations are involved in the analysis. Such variables are: production rates per unit of time, physical-mechanical characteristics of the material, hauling distances, topography, access design, hauling routes, cycles, and fleet performance (truck, shovel). Additionally, there are other external variables that also condition a normal operation, such as rain, snow, fog and seismic movement. The purpose of this study is to size the fleet of the loading and hauling equipment that fulfills the processing plant requirements in an efficient manner.
