This article analyzes some of the positions held by the popes about the process of Hispanic American Independence. Noteworthy is the analysis of how transformations brought about by the transition from the XVIII to the XIX century, conditioned the pontiffs’ beliefs when faced with both the new liberal, republican and lay politics and the threat to traditional order in a period of acceleration of historical dynamics in the new Atlantic world. Among specific problems, this article covers the birth of patronage and the acknowledgment of the new Hispano-American republican states. Finally we use a new perspective as an attempt to explain why states throughout Hispanic America developed into confessional republics linked to the roman apostolic catholic church instead of creating their own national catholic churches.

The purpose of the study was to determine if the condition of marginality and bilingualism could be affecting proper oral linguistic development and pre reading skills in children aged 4-6 years children of three areas of Perú, and also establish the correlation between the level of development of the components phonological, morph- syntactic and semantic oral language, phonological awareness, verbal short-term memory and other pre-reading skills. For this purpose, urban children was examined children initial education of urban areas: Lima and Ate- Vitarte, and rural areas: Spanish monolingual: Cajamarca and bilingual: Huancavelica, with the short test bilingualism (Escobar 1978 , González 2006), Test ELO of Ramos (2008) and Test BIL 3-6 ( Battery start reading ) of Selles (2008). The results showed significant differences in oral language development between groups for urban children....

The aim of the present study was to examine the relationship between students’ cognitive and self-regulatory strategies, academic engagement, and academic achievement in higher education, analyzing the mediating role of reading comprehension. Different tasks to assess the constructs were administered to 209 students (Mage = 21.71; SD = 4.36). The students' GPA was used as a measure of academic achievement. Significant associations were found between cognitive and self-regulation strategies, academic engagement, reading comprehension, and students' GPA. In addition, a positive association was found between cognitive and self-regulation strategies and academic engagement. Finally, the structural equation model showed that cognitive and self-regulation strategies and academic engagement have direct effects on students' GPA. Additionally, an indirect effect of cognitive and self-regulation...

The competence of the European States in the field of international relations seems to conceive at the present time as an all-embracing faculty, which embraces all responsibility for any activity with external significance. In the Spanish case, this trend has meant a return to the prevailing conception during the primary stage of constitutional development, and refers to coverage in an expansive reading of the State’s competency title on international relations and on the functions of international treaties and Direction Foreign policy constitutionally conferred on the Government.

This paper offers the results of a content analysis on how Spanish media are using the 360º video feature. Unlike other conventional ways of storytelling, this new modality provides the viewer with a sensation of being really present in a reality that is only being represented, which favors a deeper and more meaningful understanding of it. The study consists of a sample of 147 360º video features produced by 19 Spanish media between January 2015 and December 2017. The results confirm a slight increase in the number of publications in 2017 and a preference for using this format to cover social issues. The main purpose of these features seems to be to show the events in their context. The use of the several techniques to increase the sense of presence is still low.

In the media industry, fast innovations and increasing competition require a high degree of corporate leadership (Koryak, Mole, Lockett, et al., 2015). The study of leadership appears to be an increasingly relevant issue. This research aims to find out to what extent leaders (editors and publishers) behave and understand their roles in Chilean and Spanish newsrooms. A questionnaire was applied to measure and identify leadership traits that are considered crucial, thus making possible to acknowledge transformational leaders and differentiate efficient leaders from ineffective. The results show that editors believe they have the ability to inspire, share goals and understand what is important, in contrast with the working experiences of their employees, that often have a low opinion of media companies as places to work.

The purpose of this work is to analyze the activities related to Financial Education in the textbooks used in Primary Education, both in public and subsidized schools in the Autonomous Community of Andalusia, considering the OECD definition for financial competence. Through a qualitative methodological process, based on content analysis, an entire textbooks' series was studied for the subject of mathematics. The outcome showed the existence of 252 activities that agree with the Financial Education proposed model, highlighting the categories of money's value (145 activities) and state and citizens (133) with the greatest presence and, therefore, with the greatest development. According to this, we consider that a good culture in financial education in an early schooling facilitates the various economic decisions faced by students insituations of economic uncertainty.

This article aims to respond to recent demands for more in-depth study on how consumers use brand-associated images to shape their attitudes to buying. A multi-attribute design is used to analyze how certain variables among buyers (ethnocentrism and similarity) are related to brand images (country and product) in the formation of attitudes within an international context. This research is based on a sample of 215 international experts from 31 countries whose responses were analyzed with structural equation modeling. The results obtained have implications for academics, government officials and directors of international marketing. Among the contributions made by the present study is its attempt to clarify the existing literature regarding the causes and effects of brand images and, as well, the measures it develops to make certain key variables (as indicated in the literature) operationa...

The literature pays little attention to non-linear models, especially regarding dimensions such as organizational culture. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to test the role of hierarchical distance in the relationship between HRM practices and social processes. With a sample of 102 Spanish firms and using partial least squares structural equation modeling assessed this relationship. Results suggested mediation of hierarchical distance between HRM practices and social processes. Such results recommend that HR managers should consider hierarchical distance more carefully especially when creating HRM practices to improve relationships among employees. Thus, the politics of commitment function better when organizations are more horizontal and when tasks are commonly delegated, managers question employees frequently prior to making decisions, discussions are encouraged, and social rela...

We present a syntactic analysis of a language with an ergative-absolutive alignment, Shipibo, and a language with a nominative-accusative alignment. This is developed by deploying syntactic schemes in line with Marantz's case distribution hierarchy. Thus, transitive and intransitive utterances of each language have been assessed and compared, considering particular characteristics of each language. It has been noted that Spanish and Shipibo maintain a different case allocation amongst them. Likewise, it has been confirmed that the intransitive utterances of these languages do not exhibit greater differences than the transitive ones. Finally, it has not been possible to confirm whether constructions which share the same alignment could be equivalent between an accusative and an ergative language, given that the split-ergativity example studied in Shipibo maintains the ergative case.
