The article analyzes deforestation and forest loss in the Condorcanqui Province, Amazonas, during the 2001 to 2020 time period. It is observed that year 2020 experienced the highest deforestation rate, indicating a significant increase compared to previous years. This large-scale deforestation can have serious environmental consequences, such as, biodiversity loss and increased greenhouse gas emissions. On the other hand, year 2009 shows the lowest deforestation rate, indicating a decrease in forest loss compared to the previous year. However, a negative rate does not necessarily imply a net increase in forest coverage, as it can reflect regeneration or compensation processes in previously affected areas. The attenuation coefficient slope (ACS) has the potential to be used for tissue characterization and as a diagnostic ultrasound tool, hence complementing B-mode images. The ACS can be valuable for estimation of other ultrasound parameters such as the backscatter coefficient. There is a well-known tradeoff between the precision of the estimated ACS values and the data block size used in spectral-based techniques such as the spectral log difference (SLD). This trade-off limits the practical usefulness of spectral-based attenuation imaging techniques. Background. Because of illegal logging, habitat fragmentation, and high value timber Andean montane forest Cedrela species (such as Cedrela angustifolia), is endangered in Central and South America. Studying the effects of climate change and tree cover loss on the distribution of C. angustifolia will help us to understand the climatic and ecological sensitivity of this species and suggest conservation and restoration strategies. Methods. Using ecological niche modeling with two algorithms (maximum entropy (MaxEnt) and Random Forest) under the ecological niche conservatism approach, we generated 16,920 models with different combinations of variables and parameters. The objective of this article was to systematize the evidence of deforestation and determine the main factors of forest loss in the department of Madre de Dios, Peru. A search was carried out for scientific research related to "deforestation", "Peruvian Amazon deforestation", deforestation Madre de Dios". Scientific articles published in a database of indexed journals were analyzed. A descriptive, non-experimental study design was chosen. For data collection, the document analysis technique was applied. Introduction: Hearing loss is a frequent occupational disease and causes deterioration in the quality of life of workers. Objetive: The objective was to identify the prevalence and factors associated with noise-induced hearing loss in workers of a metalworking company. Material and Methods: Analytical cross-sectional study. Data from occupational medical records were used to determine the frequency of hearing loss due to noise and its potential associated factors (age, sex, personal history). Simple and multiple regression models were constructed, estimating prevalence ratios (RP) using generalized linear models, Poisson family and log link function. Results: Of 1543 workers, the average age was 36.7 years and the majority were male (93.6%). One of main factors identified as explaining forest loss and degradation in the Selva (the Peruvian Amazon) is the migration of people from the Sierra (Andes highlands), where agricultural conditions are severe, to forest areas in the Selva in search of new land. This paper aims at clarifying the characteristics and process of migration based on interviews with local people near Pucallpa, Ucayali Department, where forest loss and degradation has advanced in recent decades. In the study area, forest loss and degradation progressed by commercial logging after construction of a road connecting between Lima and Pucallpa in 1943. The threatened Peruvian Plantcutter Phytotoma raimondii is a restricted-range species, endemic to the north coast of Peru. As a specialist herbivore, it is only found at sites with an adequate diversity of xerophytic flora. Although it is recognized that the species is under threat from habitat degradation and loss, little or no attempt has been made to measure these changes. This study catalogues the floral diversity and degradation of sites near Lobitos town, north of Talara, to determine the loss of this species´ habitat. Fieldwork was conducted between November 2019 and January 2020. La pancreatina, sustancia conformada por la mezcla de enzimas digestivas, con aplicaciones en el campo médico-farmaceútico, por su origen y método de producción requiere ser sometida a un proceso de descontaminación. Así, muestras de pancreatina en polvo fueron empacadas en bolsas de polietileno de baja densidad y tratadas con radiación gamma a las dosis de 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 13 y 25 kGy. Se realizaron las pruebas microbiológicas y físico-químicas, indicadas en la US Pharmacopea, a las muestras irradiadas y control, para determinar la dosis óptima de descontaminación que permitiría el uso comercial del producto.
