A software tool was developed in the Imaging Processing Research laboratory (INTI-Lab) that automatically downloads several IONEX files around a specific user input date and also performs statistical calculations to look for ionospheric anomalies through the generation of differential vertical total electron content (ΔVTEC) maps. The IONEX CODE-Database Processing Tool (ICPT) software allows to save a considerable amount of time spended in gathering the necessary IONosphere map EXchange (IONEX) files for the production of differential VTEC maps. Using the ICPT software we were able to detect ionospheric anomalies before the devastating earthquake that happened in Mexico on September 7, 2017. This work proposes a computational algorithm to convert digital files containing electrocardiogram (ECG) information into 1D signals. Many medical databases have in storage files containing ECG information that is not easy to process for computational algorithms. Digitization by the proposed method makes it possible to modernize the databases of many health centers in order to perform post-processing of the signals obtained. This method is based on applying digital signal processing techniques to images obtained from a PDF file produced by an electrocardiograph. The proposed algorithm takes into consideration the thickness of the printed signal in the PDF image so that it does not introduce distortion in the final 1D signal. The following study proposes to analyze and compare the computational response provided by the Single Board Computers (SBC) Raspberry Pi CM4 and Nvidia Jetson Nano because those are important elements in machine learning applications and implementation of automated systems. Vehicle impersonation is one of the main problems based on license plates adulteration. Furthermore, license plate recognition has been field of study of computer vision, due to the high impact it has on intelligent transport, road safety, etc. This work presents an OCR process based on license plate recognition. To achieve this, we have established a rectified license plate database to experiment. The process consists of an initial noise filtering to the images, to later segment the region of the plate that contains the characters, then, perform a pre-processing on the images and, finally, isolate each of the characters to apply the OCR individually to each one of them. The results show an 89.33% accuracy in the license plate recognition in accordance with similar researches, and a 96.11% accuracy in the recognition of each character individually.

Multibiometric systems rely on the idea of combining multiple biometric methods into one single process that leads to a more reliable and accurate system. The combination of two different biometric traits such as face and ear results in an advantageous and complementary process when using 2D images taken under uncontrolled conditions. In this work, we investigate several approaches to fuse information from the face and ear images to recognize people in a more accurate manner than using each method separately. Se plantea un método de reconocimiento de marcas ópticas utilizando una cámara WEB a través del presente trabajo. El mismo se orienta al reconocimiento del código y la nota de un estudiante en un cuadernillo de evaluación. Las marcas se generan en el cuadernillo utilizando un lapicero. Se utilizan algoritmos y técnicas de procesamiento de imágenes como el filtrado espacial, umbralización, segmentación, descripción y reconocimiento a través de redes neuronales. El método propuesto permite automatizar el ingreso de notas académicas a una base de datos, sin alterar significativamente el formato de los cuadernillos utilizado en las evaluaciones de los estudiantes. Los resultados obtenidos demuestran que el método propuesto alcanza un error máximo del 2% en el proceso de reconocimiento.

This article analyzes the application of Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) in the field of computer vision, using the bibliometric method. An analysis of literary samples, using basic descriptive statistics, is performed by filtering the Scopus database of 2526 records, comprising a period of 5 years (2018-2022).
