When the deciduous second molar is lost before first permanent molar eruption, intraalveolar space maintainer, it is indicated as an alternative to solve this problem caused by partial or total loss of primary tooth. This appliance allow the reestablishment of its functions appropriately. This paper shows a case report for distal shoe space maintainer with stainless steel crown in a children of 5 years and 2 months.

Efectividad de una pasta tri-antibiótica en pieza decidua necrótica con absceso periapical y fístula

El objetivo de este trabajo fue evaluar la efectividad de una pasta tri-antibiótica como tratamiento en una pieza con absceso periapical y fístula mediante su acción bactericida en un paciente de cuatro años de edad, con el fin de inhibir los microorganimos presentes y preservar la pieza. Se realizó pulpectomía y se obturó definitivamente cn la pasta tribiótica de ciprofloxacina, metrodinosol y minociclina con vehículo líquido de propilenglicol. Para la preparación de la pasta se removió la cubierta entérica, éstos antibióticos fueron pulverizados en un mortero estéril y luego mezclados con el propilenglicol inmediatamente antes de ser usados. El resultado de esta pasta fue efectiva mostrando mejorías tanto clínica como radiográficamente.

The non-complicated fractures of the crown constitute one of the frequent dentoalveolar trauma in the permanent teething. The most vulnerable tooth is the upper central incisor, which occurs in the majority of the dental traumatic injuries. Depending on the extent of the crown fractures, there are different options of restoring treatments. This clinical case shows: The stratified technique of resin combined with the silicone matrix Achieving highly esthetic results in a more brief pediatric dentistry appointment. Moreover, because the patient shows risk factors for dental trauma it was decided to make a mouthguard to prevent future dentoalveolar trauma and to get a greater life time for the restoration.

A review of the literature was made regarding the way avulsed teeth were stored. An online search in Medline was used, including those publications between 1980 and 2007 in which the key word: “viability”, “storage medium”, “storage media”, “tooth avulsion” and “avulsion” appeared. The best storages are those that have the following characteristics: pH and physiological osmolality, contain nutrients, are liquid sterile and are available at the moment of the accident. The results of those studies showed that low-fat fresh milk pasteurized was better than saliva, water, contact lens solutions and the Gatorade®. HBSS and Viaspan were better than milk, propolis and tender Coconut water. Viaspan was equal to, or better than, HBSS in preserving periodontal ligament cells. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of one paste triantibiotica as a treatment in one piece with periapical abcess and fistula. We report a patient of for years old, who had presented a necrotic primary molar with abcess and fistula, we decided to make the pulpectomy using antibiotic paste formed by ciprofloxacin, metronidazole, minocycline and propyleneglycol to inhibit microorganisms present and preserve the piece. After removal of enteric coating, these drugs were pulverized using terile mortar and pestle, and then one increment of each powdered drug was mixed with propylene glycol to form an ointment just before use. The result of this paste was effective showing clinical and radiographic improvements.

Las fracturas coronarias no complicadas constituyen uno de los traumatismos dentoalveolares frecuentes en la dentición permanente. El diente más vulnerable es el incisivo central superior, el cual ocurre en la mayoría de las lesiones traumáticas dentarias. Dependiendo de la extensión de las fracturas coronarias, existen diferentes opciones de tratamientos restauradores. Este caso clínico muestra: La técnica estratificada de resina combinada con la matriz de silicona, logrando resultados altamente estéticos en una consulta odontopediátrica más breve. Además, debido a que el paciente presenta factores de riesgo a los traumatismos dentales se decidió confeccionar un protector bucal para evitar los traumatismos dentoalveolares futuros, consiguiendo un mayor tiempo de vida de la restauración.

Objective: the aim of the study was to determine whether the use of conceptual map CmapTools encourages reading comprehension of expository text in dental students according to learning styles. Methodology: A quasi-experimental study with pretest and posttest in 50 students from Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos was performed. Objectives: Determine the perception of personal risk to COVID-19 in graduates of the dental school of a Peruvian university in 2022. Materials and Methods: An observational and cross-sectional design study was carried out on 118 graduates using simple random probabilistic sampling. The survey was sent virtually and validity (expert judgment) and reliability (Cronbach's Alpha 0.90) were evaluated. Objective: To determine the clinical consequences of untreated dental caries in children aged 36 to 71 months in the province of Yauyos. Materials and Methods: The study was descriptive, observational and cross-sectional, the sample was 100 girls and boys from 36 to 71 months of age from cribs-gardens, whose teeth were evaluated per arch using the pufa index. Cramer's V test was used for data analysis. Results: The clinical consequences of untreated caries was 59.0% according to the pufa index with a higher frequency in girls (57.4%) and those who were between 60 and 71 months of age were the most affected (75, 0%). Objectives: To identify the knowledge about the immediate management of dental fracture and avulsion of Primary Education students of a national university in 2023. Materials and Methods: It was a descriptive and cross-sectional study, with a sample of 112 students that were divided into two groups, middle-year students (61) and final-year students (51), who were sent a validated virtual optional questionnaire multiple that accepts a single answer, consists of 5 general data questions and 10 knowledge questions. El Objetivo del estudio fue evaluar el desarrollo del proceso de tutoría y el desempeño del docente tutor en un Programa Piloto de tutoría desde la perspectiva del estudiante y docente participante. El diseño de la investigación es pre experimental, aplicativo, cualicuantitativo; la población de estudio es constituida por 61 estudiantes y 12 docentes. This study aimed to identify learning styles preference and their relationship to academic achievement in freshman students. El presente estudio tuvo como propósito identificar los estilos de aprendizaje y su relación con el rendimiento académico en los estudiantes ingresantes. Metodología: Se utilizó el cuestionario Honey-Alonso de Estilos de aprendizaje (CHAEA), así como el historial académico como evidencia del su rendimiento académico de 48 estudiantes voluntarios, quienes participaron en el programa de Tutoría; se capacitó a docentes, tutores y estudiantes.
