Determina la relación de la caries de infancia temprana (CIT) y la calidad de vida relacionada a la salud bucal (CVRSB) en niños de 36 a 71 meses de edad de la provincia de Yauyos. Se empleará un estudio descriptivo, observacional, de corte transversal y correlacional. La muestra fue de 100 niños de cunas – jardín de 3 distritos de Yauyos, a quienes se les evaluaron usando el índice ceo-d y pufa. Para el análisis univariado y descriptivo se usaron frecuencias, porcentaje, medidas de tendencia central y dispersión. Para el análisis bivariado e inferencial se utilizaron la prueba de Kruskall Wallis, prueba de U de Mann-Whitney y la correlación de Spearman. Se obtuvo como resultados que la prevalencia de CIT fue de 93% y el promedio total del índice ceo-d fue 8,8 ±4,5, la prevalencia de las consecuencias clínicas de las caries no tratadas mediante el índice pufa fue del 59,0...

Objective: To determine the clinical consequences of untreated dental caries in children aged 36 to 71 months in the province of Yauyos. Materials and Methods: The study was descriptive, observational and cross-sectional, the sample was 100 girls and boys from 36 to 71 months of age from cribs-gardens, whose teeth were evaluated per arch using the pufa index. Cramer's V test was used for data analysis. Results: The clinical consequences of untreated caries was 59.0% according to the pufa index with a higher frequency in girls (57.4%) and those who were between 60 and 71 months of age were the most affected (75, 0%). According to the dental arches and type of condition, 51.2% of the teeth in the upper arch presented clinical consequences of untreated dental caries, of which the condition with the highest prevalence was pulpitis in both arches, 55% in the upper and 57% at the bottom. Oral habits are responsible for many dentoalveolar and soft tissue disorders. Knowledge of the management of these is of vital importance for the clinician. The purpose of this review is to search in the scientific literature, the management of the most common oral habits, in order to create a treatment guide that helps the clinician in their management. Methods: 121 articles were revised from the databases Pubmed, Cochrane library, Ebsco, Scielo and Google Scholar. Systematic reviews, meta analysis, randomized clinical trials and clinical guides were prioritized in the search, with a publish date not greater than 5 years. After the final review and selection, 45 articles were used. The search was carried out in English and Spanish, using the keywords for the topics: non-nutritive sucking, atypical swallowing, mouth breathing, bruxism, and lip sucking or biting.
