This paper sets out the main challenges and provides an overview of the future of ICTs and their connection with education. It begins with a description of the so-called knowledge-based society and how its evolution, an offspring of technology, has encompassed different areas, paving the way for innovation in education and prompting generation of new knowledge. It also outlines the importance of each educational agent (teacher-student) and their role in transforming the teaching-learning process.

Information and communication technologies (ICTs) have become a decisive resource in the field of education, and at the same time, an indispensable variable in the academic practice where we seek to use each one of the resources offered by Web 2.0. The objective of this article is to perform a critical analysis and review of the conceptual aspects of teacher training, the use of the ICTs and their implications in teacher’s daily work, as well as in the teaching-learning process. Finally, it is concluded to highlight the importance of the creation of pedagogical dimensions that indicate the training competencies a teacher must have given the new technological tendency.

The ways in which pedagogical practices have evolved and how to understand the teaching and learning process are different. With the use of the Internet, the sources of information and evaluation are amplified, and educational agents within virtual education play an important role, reflecting on a new paradigm of learning and knowledge construction. From the theoretical review carried out in this document, aspects for virtual education and the tendency to an evaluative practice that does not deal exclusively with the classroom are exposed, since the intercommunication tools become and contribute to a new pedagogical practice focused on learning, giving rise to a more active role for students.

ICT in the educational context can be seen as information transmitting resources that link the teacher and the student in the improvement of teaching-learning adapted to the needs and characteristics of each subject. From this perspective, we seek to describe the state of Iberoamerican scientific production on the inclusion of ICT in the educational discipline in the period 2010 to 2020, based on a retrospective descriptive analysis of publications collected in journals indexed in Scopus. The documental analysis  technique was used and the “Observation Guide” proposed by Martín and Lafuente (2017) was employed as an instrument, which is composed of five quality indicators for the bibliographic review (exhaustiveness, critical use of the bibliography, quality, relevance and review of previous research works); and of 9 for bibliographic references (update, number of references, self-citation, language, typology, support, complete references, accuracy and fulfillment of a standard or style). The study describes the scientific production of psychology students in Peruvian Psychology Journals registered in the Latindex directory in 2017. A theoretical study that analyzed 220 articles from 12 journals of psychology was carried out. Any publication that did not have the IMRAD structure was excluded. There were 485 authors with national and international affiliation, of which 8.25% were psychology students and had participated in the publication of 29 articles (original research, reviews, and case studies). Of the 29 articles with student authorship, 64.5% were articles from the clinical area and 35.5% from the educational area. The most prevalent type of research was instrumental (54.8%). Antecedentes: Dentro de los factores que intervienen en la degradación y remodelación del tejido pulmonar por tuberculosis (TB) se encuentran las MMPs, MDPs y TIMPs. Asimismo, se sabe que la hiperglicemia conlleva a mayor riesgo de fracaso en el tratamiento de TB. La hiperglicemia podría mediar la actividad de dichos biomarcadores de forma indirecta mediante el incremento del estrés oxidativo, que puede ser cuantificado mediante la expresión de HO-1.
