This paper sets out the main challenges and provides an overview of the future of ICTs and their connection with education. It begins with a description of the so-called knowledge-based society and how its evolution, an offspring of technology, has encompassed different areas, paving the way for innovation in education and prompting generation of new knowledge. It also outlines the importance of each educational agent (teacher-student) and their role in transforming the teaching-learning process.

Information and communication technologies (ICTs) have become a decisive resource in the field of education, and at the same time, an indispensable variable in the academic practice where we seek to use each one of the resources offered by Web 2.0. The objective of this article is to perform a critical analysis and review of the conceptual aspects of teacher training, the use of the ICTs and their implications in teacher’s daily work, as well as in the teaching-learning process. Finally, it is concluded to highlight the importance of the creation of pedagogical dimensions that indicate the training competencies a teacher must have given the new technological tendency.

The ways in which pedagogical practices have evolved and how to understand the teaching and learning process are different. With the use of the Internet, the sources of information and evaluation are amplified, and educational agents within virtual education play an important role, reflecting on a new paradigm of learning and knowledge construction. From the theoretical review carried out in this document, aspects for virtual education and the tendency to an evaluative practice that does not deal exclusively with the classroom are exposed, since the intercommunication tools become and contribute to a new pedagogical practice focused on learning, giving rise to a more active role for students.

ICT in the educational context can be seen as information transmitting resources that link the teacher and the student in the improvement of teaching-learning adapted to the needs and characteristics of each subject. From this perspective, we seek to describe the state of Iberoamerican scientific production on the inclusion of ICT in the educational discipline in the period 2010 to 2020, based on a retrospective descriptive analysis of publications collected in journals indexed in Scopus. The study describes the scientific production of psychology students in Peruvian Psychology Journals registered in the Latindex directory in 2017. A theoretical study that analyzed 220 articles from 12 journals of psychology was carried out. Any publication that did not have the IMRAD structure was excluded. There were 485 authors with national and international affiliation, of which 8.25% were psychology students and had participated in the publication of 29 articles (original research, reviews, and case studies). Of the 29 articles with student authorship, 64.5% were articles from the clinical area and 35.5% from the educational area. The most prevalent type of research was instrumental (54.8%). The advancement of technology has allowed the creation of learning environments that favor social interaction, identifying key aspects for the development of collaborative activities, in relation to the formation of groups. The purpose of this study is to determine to what extent the use of the wiki, in the context of teaching through a virtual classroom, allows to improve collaboration in the development of group work of students from a private university in Lima. The quasi-experimental design, with pretest and posttest, an intact group and an experimental group is used as a research method. The instrument used constitutes a rubric that evaluates the dimensions of collaborative learning: positive interdependence, meaning construction and psychosocial relationships. The results showed that the use of the wiki improves collaborative learning in undergraduate students.

The research systematized the development of pedagogical practice in the initial education career, during the first stage of the Covid-19 pandemic. For this purpose, a qualitative study was carried out, aligned to a design for the systematization of experiences method; reflecting on the evolution of the corresponding subject, with the participation of 23 students, each in charge of 20 children and their families (n = 460), with the guidance of the university professor. The results were; application of didactic-pedagogical strategies of the processes in the remote context; use of enhanced digital resources creating contextualized materials for interaction and; the approach to the unavoidable emotional accompaniment in the face of childhood vulnerability. Violence against women during the pandemic has become a problem that has affected the world and to date has caused the death of many women. Although mental health has shown a growing interest in research, it is still very susceptible to being affected. This research described the scientific literature on the challenges in the psychotherapeutic approach in victims of violence against women during the COVID-19 pandemic in Latin America.
